Mark 3:28-29, The Unpardonable Sin?

Mark 3:28-29 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: [29] But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation: [KJV]

Luke 12:10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven. [KJV]

Matthew 12:32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come. (KJV)

When a person blasphemes with his mouth, that is NOT what condemns him. It is the attitude of his heart. Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is to resist His convicting work in the heart and life. This is a permanent condition . . . unless he/she stops resisting. And in today’s world, there are SO many women who blaspheme and curse. I don’t know if they think it’s “cool” or what! I think it is vulgar to say the least.
The religious leaders accused Jesus of blasphemy, but the truth is that they were the guilty ones when they looked Jesus in the face and accused Him of being possessed by Satan. That was the unpardonable sin then. This could NOT be committed today in that way. At that time, they had the second Person of the Godhead (Jesus) present with them, and they accused Him of casting out demons by Beelzebub when He is doing it by the power of the Holy Spirit. In reality they were actually rejecting the works of TWO Persons of the Godhead, the testimony of the Son and the testimony of the Holy Spirit. They expressed an attitude of unbelief which is permanent rejection of Christ. They resisted the Holy Spirit. That was/is unpardonable!

It is impossible to commit that particular unpardonable sin today. Today the unpardonable sin is simply refusing to believe God (1 John 5:10-12). The Holy Spirit tries to persuade all people to believe God and accept Christ, but IF a person by a hard and unrepentant heart rejects the urging of the Spirit, God will NOT pardon them. That is the unpardonable sin of today.

BUT, if you commit that sin of rejecting Christ today, and then come under conviction because of it tomorrow, come to God in repentance; He will forgive you. Christ died for all sin, not just some sin. He didn’t die for every sin except one, the unpardonable sin. There is no such thing as being able to commit a sin today that He will not forgive.
It is the attitude and state of the unbeliever that is unpardonable, NOT the act. This sin is a heart-attitude of unbelief and unrepentance. It is a deliberate and ongoing rejection of the work of the Holy Spirit. It is blasphemy because it is actually rejecting God Himself.

A TRUE believer need never worry about this sin because they have been convicted by the Holy Spirit and believed God and accepted His Son. Their heart is right with God. And the Holy Spirit abides within them! (Romans 8:9). IF you worry that you may have committed the unpardonable sin, you haven't! Being concerned about it proves your heart is right with God.

Passages mentioned above.

1 John 5:10-13 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. [11] And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. [12] He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. [13] These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. (KJV)

Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. (KJV)
