HIS SERVANTS' MINISTRY

Welcome to our Website

Hebrews 10:26, Do NOT Reject Christ!

Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, (KJV)

When someone deliberately rejects Christ’s offer of salvation, they reject God’s most precious Gift. They ignore (disregard, scorn) the leading of the Holy Spirit, the One who tells us of God’s saving love. The above warning was given to Jewish Christians who were tempted to reject Christ for Judaism, but it applies to ANYONE who rejects Christ for another religion or, having understood Christ’s atoning work, deliberately turns away from it.

Numbers 15:31 Because he hath despised the word of the Lord, and hath broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him. (KJV)

Mark 3:28-29 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: [29] But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation: (KJV)

The reality, and Truth of this is that there is NO other acceptable sacrifice for sin than the death of Christ on the cross. If someone deliberately rejects the Sacrifice of Christ after clearly understanding the Gospel, then there is NO way for that person to be saved, because God has NOT provided any other name under heaven by which we can be saved.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (KJV)

John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. (KJV)

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. (KJV)

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (KJV)

If we are not diligent in our spiritual growth, a falling away might take place, and apostasy may result. Any time that a person is lukewarm towards Christ (Rev.3:16), apostasy is a great possibility. If we sin willfully, that is, not isolated acts, but a state of practicing sin (1 John 3:6), we are in BIG trouble! To sin wilfully and presumptuously, after receiving full knowledge of the Truth, having been enlightened, and by having tasted of the heavenly gift (Heb.6:4-5), there remains NO more sacrifice for sins. In other words . . . you throw away ALL chances of eternal life in Heaven! For there is only ONE Sacrifice that can atone for sin. Please, do NOT deliberately reject it, for if you do, the verdict is HELL!

Hebrews 10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. (KJV)

2 Peter 2:21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. (KJV)

The warning was to the Hebrew believers because many of them were continuing to go to the temple and some were actually offering sacrifices there. They were keeping up a front, pretending that they were still under the Mosaic Law. In so doing they also were making it clear that the Sacrifice of Christ was useless to them. Old Testament Jewish animal sacrifices looked forward to, symbolized the Sacrifice of Christ. BUT . . . now that Jesus had died on the cross, ALL that was fulfilled. So . . . what been done before in obedience to God’s command, NOW was willful sin. To continue to offer blood sacrifices which had been fulfilled by Christ was a terrible thing. They were acting as if the temple sacrifices were still needed when they were not! The writer of the book of Hebrews is telling them that they cannot look to the temple any more, because there is no longer a sacrifice for sin needed.

IF a person rejects the Truth of Christ’s death, there is NO other sacrifice for sin available. There is NO other way to come to God except His One and Only Plan . . . Christ! Jews and Gentiles . . . ALL people, are to look to Christ rather than to the temple or any other religion. If they refuse to do this, there is nothing left for them but judgment (Rev.20:11-15). The Word of God is very insistent and clear on this matter.

IF we willfully sin after that we have received the knowledge of the Truth, we are doomed! This means to keep on sinning willfully by offering sacrifices. It is an attitude toward the Word of God which God calls willful rebellion. There is NO more sacrifice in the Old Testament OR the New Testament for arrogant sins . . . which is rejecting the Sacrifice of Jesus on the cross for our sins.

Jesus paid our sin debt . . . in FULL. Please do NOT turn your back on Him and His love.

Passages mentioned above.

Revelation 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. (KJV)

1 John 3:6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. (KJV)

Revelation 20:11-15 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. [12] And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. [13] And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. [14] And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. [15] And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (KJV)
