2 Thes.2:10-12, Those Left Behind

2 Thes. 2:10-12 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. [11] And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: [12] That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. (KJV)

This is referring to those left behind at the Rapture. The world at that time will be ruled by the Antichrist. WHY will these people perish? Verse 10 very clearly states this. Because they received not the love of the truth. The Truth being Jesus and the Holy Word of God. These people are well on their way to perishing this very day, BEFORE the Rapture.

God is allowing the world to believe a lie. Why does He do that? Isn’t that unfair? No, just as God hardened Pharaoh’s heart, so too He is allowing people today to make choices. God simply forced Pharaoh into a situation which revealed what was already in his heart.

Millions of people pussy-foot around today. They refuse to take a stand for God. They refuse to listen to the Gospel. Their hearts and minds are closed! God graciously offers them His Word, but they will NOT accept it.

Even after they have heard the Word of God (rare in today’s pulpits, 2 Tim.4:3-4) they refuse to accept it. After the Rapture, and these souls are left behind, God will send them “strong delusion” (fraudulence; straying from God, deception, error). Apostate Christianity! WHY will God do this??? Because they reject and will NOT receive the Truth. Because of this, they are wide open to believe the lie of the devil!

Millions of people have stopped going to churches where they heard the Gospel, the Truth. They go to these modern ‘emergent’ churches, ‘seeker friendly’ churches, where the damnable ‘word-faith’ heresies are taught instead of the Biblical doctrines. They are easy prey for the devil’s cults and the “isms” of our day.

It is absolutely amazing how intelligent people who have sat in church, heard the Gospel, the Truth, and rejected it, and then turned to the wildest cult imaginable. They will follow some one who is an absolutely phony, and who NEVER gives out the Word of God. Why do they do this? Because God said they would! When people reject the Truth, they will believe the lie.

God our Shepherd is busy separating the sheep from the goats. If people will not receive His love, God sends them a “strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.”
What is the “lie”? The lie of Antichrist is that Jesus Christ is not the Lord, that Jesus is not who He says He is. He will tell people that they are really smart in not becoming religious nuts who believe in Jesus; and that Jesus certainly is not the only way to Heaven. And he will have a good explanation for what happened to the saints who disappeared from the Earth at the Rapture, and will congratulate the people on having waited to build a kingdom on Earth with him. Since Antichrist will bring peace to Israel, the people will believe him and will believe that Antichrist will bring them the Millennium. They will NOT realize that they are entering into the Great Tribulation, NOT the Millennium! That is the lie, and people will believe it because they did NOT believe the Truth of God’s Holy Word.

Millions of people world wide refuse to accept Jesus, the ONLY One who can save them. No matter what you think, Jesus is the ONLY Way to Heaven! . . . Truth is truth whether you believe it or not.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (KJV)

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (KJV)

John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. (KJV)

2 Cor. 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. (KJV)

They refuse to believe what God so plainly states about His only begotten Son.

1 John 5:10-12 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. [11] And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. [12] He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. (KJV)

The Gospel in a nutshell!

John 3:14-18 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: [15] That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. [16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. [17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. [18] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (KJV)

You do NOT want to be “damned” by God!

2 Thes.2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

God shall judge ALL those who have rejected the Truth, who have refused to believe Him. If you read what I write here, backed by the Bible, and continue to reject Jesus Christ, you are wide open for anything that the devil will say or do to delude and deceive you. You will NEVER be able to go into the Presence of God and say, “I didn’t understand, I never heard the Gospel.” If you turn your back on the Lord Jesus Christ, then you are wide open for delusion and you shall stand before the Great White Throne for severe and certain judgment (Rev.20:11-15). I am putting you out on a limb, because you cannot now say you have never heard the Gospel. You have heard it. Please do NOT reject Jesus Christ. I am a savour of life to those that are saved and a savor of death to those that perish (2 Cor. 2:15–16).

And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie. Delusion = deception, falsehood. Because people refuse to believe the Truth, God will allow them to believe the lie that Antichrist is the Messiah, that they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. “Damned” is a very strong word! It means ALL who refuse to believe the Truth will be condemned to an eternal and agonizing Hell! God NEVER tries to hide anything from us. He tells us how to avoid this, and that is simply to believe Him and accept what He states as Truth!

Rev. 13:2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. (KJV)

The beast represents a world power (which in Daniel is represented by four). This beast (Antichrist) represents Satan.

Rev. 13:4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? (KJV)

The very language here is reserved for God alone (Ex.15:11; Psalm 113:5). Worship = prostrate oneself in homage (do reverence to, adore).

Rev. 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. (KJV)

After the Rapture, all people living on Earth will worship Antichrist, EXCEPT those whose names were written in the book of life. The only way to get your name in this book, is to believe God and accept His Son to save you.

That they should believe a lie . . . the lie is Antichrist’s claim that he is God, and includes people bowing down to his image (Rev.13:14-15), and accepting his mark in their forehead or right hand (Rev.13:16-17). ANYONE who does this is forever doomed to an agonizing Hell!

Rev. 14:9-11 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, [10] The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: [11] And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. (KJV)

ALL those who worship the beast, accept his mark, and operate according to his world economic system will in the end face God’s wrath and judgment. If you value worldly money, power, fame, and pleasure over God’s leadership, you are on the WRONG road! Many people disown God and violate Christian principles to store up earthly treasures (Mat.6:19-20). Anyone who does so is well on the way of believing a lie because they are not believing the Truth. They must drink of the wine of God’s wrath (Psalm 75; Isaiah 51:17). The final result of sin is eternal separation from God.

2 Thes. 1:8-9 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: [9] Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; (KJV)

This will be the ultimate torment and misery. Sin ALWAYS brings misery, but in this life we can choose to repent and restore our relationship with God. In eternity . . . YES!~ there is eternity, and there will be NO more opportunity for repentance there. If you choose to reject God now, in the next life you will be separated from Him forever. NO one is forced to choose eternal separation from God, and NO one suffers this fate by accident. Jesus invites ALL of us to open the door of our hearts to Him (Rev. 3:20). If we do, we will enjoy everlasting fellowship with Him, for we will go with Him to Heaven at the Rapture (John 14:1-3; 1 Thes.4:13-18; 1 Pet.1:4), and never have to worry about believing Antichrist ’s lie! Amen!
