2 Cor.2:14-17, Savour of Death; Savour of Life??

2 Cor. 2:14-17 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. [15] For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: [16] To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things? [17] For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ. (KJV)

We should always thank God, who gives us victory because of Christ Jesus. Wherever we go, whatever we do, we should make it clear to “whosoever” what it means for us to know Christ. Our love and gratitude should be like a fragrance that fills the air. And we must remember that to God, we are the sweet smell of Christ among those who are saved and among those who lost. We could be the ONLY hope of unbelievers that are perishing. To some people we are a deadly fragrance, while to others we are a life-giving fragrance.

SO . . . Just WHO is qualified to tell about Christ? ALL . . . EVERYONE who profess to know Him! You are not only qualified, IF you do NOT tell (witness) . . . you are in direct disobedience to Christ Jesus (Mat.28:19-20; Mk.16:15).

Preaching the Gospel . . . or just telling someone what Jesus means to you, what He has done for you, is like having victory in a battle. We should be thinking and saying, “Thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ.” We CANNOT lose when we are in Christ. We CANNOT lose! God always causes us to triumph. We were among those who were going to be executed, but now are pardoned . . . we have been set free! AMEN!

2 Cor. 2:16 To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things? This should overwhelm us! WHO is sufficient for these things? My friend, the greatest privilege in the world is to tell people about Jesus! To speak the Word of God. Nothing can compare! WHY??? Because God always causes us to triumph! Triumph = make a favorable procession, to conquer, to give victory, to triumph over.

When the Gospel is preached and the multitudes accept Christ, that is wonderful. But, when YOU tell someone . . . one on one about what Jesus has done for you, that too is wonderful! You can triumph!

WE are a “savour of life” unto those who are saved. But . . . what about those who reject Christ? WE are a “savour of death” to them. On Judgment Day, when they stand before Judge Jesus, they CANNOT say: “I never heard the Gospel. I never heard about Jesus. I didn’t know.” IF YOU tell them, they have heard!

GOSPEL TRUTH!!!

Millions of people world wide refuse to accept Jesus, the ONLY One who can save them. No matter what you think, Jesus is the ONLY Way to Heaven! . . . Truth is truth whether you believe it or not.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (KJV)

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (KJV)

John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. (KJV)

2 Cor. 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. (KJV) They refuse to believe what God so plainly states about His only begotten Son.

1 John 5:10-12 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. [11] And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. [12] He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. (KJV)

The Gospel in a nutshell!

John 3:14-18 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: [15] That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. [16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. [17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. [18] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (KJV)

If you read what I have written and still reject Christ, I am your enemy . . . because now you CANNOT go into the Presence of God and tell Him that you never heard the Gospel. I have absolutely NO power to save you or anyone else. But the power to save you comes from the words above that I have written in this article. God’s Word has power, I do not!

Multitudes will NOT be set free. They will be judged and condemned to an eternal Hell. But regardless of our destiny, one day every knee must bow to Him, and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord (Isa.45:23; Rom.14:11; Phil.2:10). EVERY person who has ever lived will have to bow to Him someday. We either do it NOW with Jesus as our Saviour and Lord, OR later, as your Judge! Your decision! We are a savor of life to some and a savor of death to others.

2 Cor. 2:17 For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ. We are NEVER to corrupt the Word of God OR distort it OR make merchandise of it . . . ever! We are to give it out willingly and in sincerity and fear, as the Spirit of God reveals its Truth to us.

Many are the false teachers in our midst today, and it won’t be long that the One World Religion will be here. I recently saw a video showing the pope in a meeting with ALL the religious leaders of the world. You name it, they were there! Even down to an American Indian smoking a peace pipe, and witches. The pope kissed the Koran in this video.
Jesus could come any day now! The Rapture is the next event on God’s calendar. Beware my friend. Stay close to Jesus. Watch! Live as He wants you to live! I want to be your friend, not your enemy!
