Is Eternal Security really a "license" to sin?"

As I have previously stated, I think this "license to sin" thing is absolutely stupid! But, opponents to the BIBLICAL doctrine of Eternal Security insist that it supposedly allows people to live any way that they want and still be saved. That is absolutely NOT true. Any person who has truly been redeemed by Jesus Christ will NOT . . . CANNOT live a life filled by continuous, willful sin. A TRUE Christian CANNOT practice sin, NO way! (1John 3:9).

There is a big difference between what a person must do in order to be saved, and how a TRUE Christian should live. The Bible is quite clear that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone (John 3:15-16; Eph.2:8-9). God made ONLY ONE Plan of Salvation! You either do it HIS Way, or He shall condemn you to Hell.

The moment a person truly believes in Jesus Christ, he or she is safe and secure in their salvation. Salvation is NOT gained or received by faith, but then maintained by works.

Galatians 3:3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? (KJV) . . . When we are saved by faith, our salvation is also maintained and secured by that same faith. We cannot earn our own salvation . . . and neither can we maintain our salvation. It is Jesus, and He alone, who maintains our salvation.

Jude 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, (KJV) . . . And, it is God's Hand that firmly holds us in His grasp.

John 10:28-29 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. (KJV) . . . And it is God's divine love that KEEPS us . . . NOTHING can ever separate us from Him (Rom.8:38-39). How wonderful this is! WHY can't people just believe God and His Holy Word?

When anyone denies eternal security, they are simply saying that we must maintain (keep) our own salvation by our own good works and efforts. This completely opposes Biblical salvation by the amazing grace of God (Eph.2:8-9). This is calling God a "liar" (1 John 5:10). This is denying Christ! This is denying Almighty God's Words!

We are saved because of Christ's righteousness (1 Cor.1:30) and Christ's merits, NOT any of our own (Rom.4:3-4). When these heretics say that we must obey God's Word or live a holy life to maintain our salvation . . . that in effect is saying that what Jesus did on the cross for us was NOT enough. They are saying that God is wrong! They are saying that what God decided long ago is wrong (Eph.1:4). God made a mistake???

That is NOT what the Bible says! (John 3:15-16; Rom.5:8; 1 Cor.15:3; 2 Cor.5:21). JESUS PAID IT ALL! We have nothing more we could possibly add to the finished Work of Christ! Jesus' death for us, was absolutely abundantly sufficient to pay for ALL our sins . . . past, present, and future, before salvation and after salvation. Jesus FINISHED His Work (John 4:34; 5:36; 17:4; 19:30).

So, can a TRUE Christian live any way he/she wants to and still be saved? I answer yes, because a TRUE Christian will NOT live in continual sin! A TRUE Christian finds sin offensive because he/she knows that ANY sin angers and displeases God. So, they do NOT live a life of practiced or continued sin. And, when we do sin, and we shall . . . we get rid of it NOW! Take it to the Lord in prayer (1 John 1:9). We do NOT go on in sin so that God's grace may increase. NO way! By no means! We died to sin, so how can we live in it any longer? (Rom.6:1-2).

Eternal security is NOT a license to sin. Instead, eternal security is the marvelous assurance of knowing that God's love is guaranteed for ALL those who trust and obey Christ. We know and understand that the tremendous GIFT of salvation accomplishes just the EXACT opposite of having a license to sin. There is NO one who truly understands the great Price that Christ Jesus paid for us, who can keep on in a life of sin (Rom.6:15-23). NO one who really understands God's unconditional and guaranteed love for those who believe, can possibly take that love and throw it back in God's face. That is to me, blasphemy! Any such person who demonstrates such wickedness does not give him a license to sin . . . BUT instead reveals that he/she has really NOT truly experienced salvation through Jesus Christ.
