What Does It Mean
To be "In
Christ"?
To
be "in Christ" simply means
to be "born again"
(spiritually) into God’s family.
John
3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily,
verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot
see the kingdom of God. [KJV]
John
1:12-13 But as many as received him, to them gave
he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe
on his name: [13] Which were born, not of blood, nor of the
will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. [KJV]
1
John 5:10-12 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the
witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him
a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of
his Son. [11] And this is the record, that God hath given to
us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. [12] He that hath
the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. [KJV] Don't call God a "Liar."
Romans
8:1-2 There is therefore now no condemnation to
them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh,
but after the Spirit. [2] For the law of the Spirit of life
in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. [KJV]
ALL people are rightly on ‘death row,’ for we ALL are justly
condemned for breaking God’s Holy law, over and over again. Without Jesus we
would have NO hope! But when we believe and accept Jesus as
our Saviour and Lord, God declares us not guilty in the courts
of Heaven. Jesus offers "whosoever"
freedom from sin and power to do His will. It is your decision,
do you want to be free? Do you want the "not guilty"
verdict from God? Or will you continue on the sinful path without
Jesus, that leads to everlasting death in Hell?

Corinthians 1:2 Unto the church of God which is
at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called
to be saints, with all that in every place call upon
the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours: [KJV]
Any time we receive a personal invitation, it makes us
feel wanted and welcome. God personally invites us to be citizens
of His eternal kingdom, both now on Earth and in Heaven. But
Jesus, is the only One who can grant us access into God’s family
and this glorious kingdom because He is the only One who can
remove our sins. "Sanctified" means set apart
by Christ for His service. How do we accept God’s invitation?
By believing and accepting His Son, Jesus. How do we do this?
By believing Jesus is who He said He is, and will do what He
said He will do; by trusting in the work He did on the cross
to forgive our sins. The TRUE church of God are those who are
sanctified in Christ Jesus; those called to be saints, those
who call upon Jesus as God manifested in the flesh, those who
acknowledge and obey Him alone as their Lord. These receive
all the blessings of salvation. The church is NOT denominations!
It is "whosoever"
that is "born again"
into God’s family.

Corinthians 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus,
who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification,
and redemption: [KJV]
God the Father made it possible for you to be "in Christ
Jesus." God made Christ to be our wisdom. Christ is
the only One who can make us acceptable to God. NO one else!
Christ Jesus makes us pure and holy, and only He sacrificed
Himself to purchase our freedom, to redeem our souls from Hell.
God is the source and reason for our personal relationship with
Christ. Our union with Christ gives us wisdom, righteousness,
knowledge and a right standing with God.

Corinthians 3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak
unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto
babes in Christ. [KJV]
Those new to the Christian life are called "babes in
Christ" because they are not yet spiritually healthy
and mature. There are some who have claimed for years to be
Christians that are still "babes." They quarrel
like children and allow divisions to distract them. Baby Christians
are controlled by their own desires; mature believers wants
what God desires. Don’t let your own desires stunt your spiritual
growth.

Corinthians 15:18-19 Then they also which are fallen
asleep in Christ are perished. [19] If in this life only we
have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. [KJV]
The
resurrection of Christ is the center of our Christian faith.
Because Christ rose from the dead, we know what He said is true,
because He is God! Because He rose, our sins are forgiven; He
lives and is our Advocate to God. Because He rose and defeated
death, we also will be raised. We have hope not only in this
life, but hope for eternal life in Heaven. There would be no
justification or no salvation, if Christ had not risen. Our
faith in Christ would be vain, if He is still among the dead.
Those who died in faith, have perished in their sins, IF Christ
was not raised from the dead. All who believe in Christ have
hope in Him, as a Redeemer; we have hope for redemption and
salvation by Him.

Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ,
he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all
things are become new. [KJV]
Those who are "in Christ" are new people on
the inside. We are not the same anymore. We live in union with
Christ. We don’t merely turn over a new leaf; we begin a new
life under a new Master. We act on new standards, by new rules,
in new family. A new heart is given to us. We are created in
Christ Jesus to do good things. Those in the past who saw no
beauty in the Saviour, no desire to have Him in their life,
now love Him above all things. The unsaved person is filled
with hatred against God, and God is rightly offended by him
or her. BUT, there can be reconciliation! No matter what your
sin, or how hard your heart is, or how much hatred and unforgiveness
youpossess, you can be reconciled to God by Jesus Christ. Jesus
was made a Sacrifice for our sin. The end result; that we might
be made the righteousness of God in Him when we believe (1 Cor.1:30),
that we might be justified freely by the grace of God through
the redemption which is in Christ Jesus.
Galatians
3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither
bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are
all one in Christ Jesus. [KJV]
Some Jewish men would pray: "Lord, I thank you that I am
not a Gentile, a slave, or a woman." Faith in Christ makes
ALL believers one "in Christ." Christ has removed
all racial and sexual barriers. ALL believers (red, yellow,
black or white, man or woman) are His heirs, NO one is more
favored or better than anyone else in God's eyes.

Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend
from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and
with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: [KJV]
Because Christ came back to life, so will all TRUE believers.
ALL believers (those dead "in Christ," and
those alive when He returns) will live with Christ forever.
We need not be depressed when a loved one "in Christ"
dies. It may be the last chapter on Earth for that person, but
it is only the first chapter in eternity. The best is yet to
come for ALL those "in Christ."

What
does it mean to be “in Christ”? If you
put a piece of paper between the pages of a book, then close
the book, whatever happens to the book happens to the paper.
If you throw the book away, you throw the paper away. If you
put the book in a safe place, the paper is safe. If the paper
is dirty and spotted, you can’t see it. That’s what
happens when we are “in Christ.” When God
looks at us, He sees us “in Christ.” He
doesn’t see our filth. To Him, we are just as clean and
pure as Jesus Himself. Do we feel forgiven and restored after
confession to God? It doesn’t matter. The fact is, we
are. We are “in Christ”, and that’s
all that counts! (Ephes. 1:1; 2:6)
Ephes.
2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us
sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: [KJV]
THANK
YOU JESUS!
