HIS
SERVANTS' MINISTRY

Welcome to our website
WHO
IS YOUR MASTER?
There
are two great powers on this Earth:
#1.
God. #2. Satan.
These
two powers are trying to control your
soul. We are born a sinner. We inherit
the desire to sin, and we do it from a
very early age (Ps.51:5; Is.48:8). We
are the devil’s children UNTIL we turn
to Christ by faith, and accept Him as
our Saviour and Lord.
Matthew
6:24 No
man can serve two masters: for either
he will hate the one, and love the other;
or else he will hold to the one, and despise
the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. (KJV)
Jesus
plainly tells us we can have ONLY ONE
master. We live in a materialistic society,
and MANY people serve money. This is choosing
the devil as your master, for there are
only two --- the other being God. People
spend all their lives stockpiling money
and possessions, only to die and leave
it behind. Their desire for money and
what it can do for them comes before God
and spiritual matters. Whatever you store
up, you will spend much of your time and
energy thinking about. Don’t fall into
the materialistic trap, because "the
love of money is a root of all kinds of
evil" (1 Tim. 6:10). Can you
honestly say that God, and not money,
is your master? Ask yourself: "Which
one occupies more of my thoughts, time,
and efforts?"
Jesus
contrasted heavenly values with earthly
values when He told us our first loyalty
should be to those things
that do not fade, cannot be stolen or
used up, and never wear out. We should
not be spellbound with our possessions,
lest they possess us. Are your possessions
becoming too important to you? A decision
for Jesus and spiritual things a decision
that allows us to live contentedly with
whatever we have because we have chosen
what is true and eternal.
Romans
6:16-18 Know ye not, that
to whom ye yield yourselves servants to
obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey;
whether of sin unto death, or of obedience
unto righteousness? [17] But God be thanked,
that ye were the servants of sin, but
ye have obeyed from the heart that form
of doctrine which was delivered you. [18]
Being then made free from sin, ye became
the servants of righteousness. (KJV)
The
lust for money and possessions comes from
the devil. Money has great power and can
take God’s place in your life IF you let
it. It can become your master (Satan).
Are you are a slave to money?
(1)
Do you think and worry about money
often?
(2)
Do you give up doing what you should
do in order to make more money?
(3)
Do you spend a much time caring for
your possessions?
(4)
Is it hard for you to give money away?
(5)
Are you deep in debt? Money is a hard
master and a deceptive one. Wealth
promises power and control, but most
often it cannot deliver. Great fortunes
can be made and lost, overnight. No
amount of money can provide health,
happiness, or eternal life. It is
much better to let God be your Master.
Anyone who serves Him have peace of
mind and contentment, both here on
Earth and forever.
No
one can serve, meaning to belong to completely,
and be totally under control of two masters.
He will hate the one, and love the other.
We cannot be servant to more than one
master. The interests of the masters are
quite different, and very conflicting.
As we serve the one, we love him, thereby
hating the other. We cannot serve God
and mammon. The word "mammon"
simply means what we trust in. Wealth,
riches, and possessions is like an idol
master. It is the god of the heart. To
serve this god and the true God together
is impossible. Matthew
6:19-21 Lay
not up for yourselves treasures upon earth,
where moth and rust doth corrupt, and
where thieves break through and steal:
[20] But lay up for yourselves treasures
in heaven, where neither moth nor rust
doth corrupt, and where thieves do not
break through nor steal: [21] For where
your treasure is, there will your heart
be also. [KJV]
When
you allow Satan to be your master, you
love the world and the temporary things
it. It can give you is a common and fatal
symptom --- that of hypocrisy. By this
sin Satan has a sure grip on your soul.
Jesus counsels us and wants us to make
our best things in this life the joys
and glories of the other world. Those
eternal things not seen are what we should
place our joy and happiness in. The eternal,
bountiful treasures in Heaven are yours
IF you choose God as your Master. It is
pure wisdom on our part to give all diligence
to make eternal life sure through Jesus
Christ. We should look on ALL things here
below, as not worthy to be compared with
Jesus and the eternal life in Heaven He
offers to us. We should find contentment
with this and nothing short of it.
The
two masters violently oppose each other,
and NO one can serve them both. God demands
our total commitment to Him and our total
input, and so does Satan. We must choose
. . . one or the other. He who holds to
the world and loves it, actually despises
God; and he who loves God, must actually
hate Satan and give up the friendship
of the world.
