Did She Kill Jesus?
I have stated before, I am NOT anti-Semitic in any way. I love the Jews. I
simply teach the Bible, the Holy and inspired Word of God. God
loves the Jews, and we too must love the Jews.
(the Jews), were throughout much of the Old Testament, a stiff-necked
people who rebelled time and time again against God. But,
my friend, please do not judge them, for they are accountable
to God and God alone, the same as you and me. You and I too
have rebelled against God. And you and I shall be held accountable
to God alone, the same as the Jews.
some examples of Israel's rebellion, see: Israel's
Israel went into captivity to the stronger nations, it was
for their idolatry, disobedience and out and out rebellion.
Their captivities were judgments from a God who loved them
and insisted on their obedience.
and moral corruption is what divided Judah and Israel. Their
acceptance of other gods, broke their covenant with God.
3:8 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby
backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away,
and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister
Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.
50:1 Thus saith the Lord, Where is the bill
of your mother's divorcement, whom I have put away? or which
of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for
your iniquities have ye sold yourselves, and for your transgressions
is your mother put away. [KJV]
4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:
because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee,
that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten
the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
4:6 My people are being destroyed because they
don't know me. It is all your fault, you priests, for you
yourselves refuse to know me. Now I refuse to recognize you
as my priests. Since you have forgotten the laws of your God,
I will forget to bless your children. [KJV]
was destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because she rejected
knowledge, God rejected her. Since they forgot God's laws,
God would forget their children. What a sad statement! May
we learn from their mistakes.
Jews, in general, rejected Jesus as their Messaih and Saviour.
And YES! Many times, they did plot to kill Jesus.
will let the Bible speak.
1:31 And I knew him not: but that he should be
made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with
1:11 He came unto his own, and his own received
him not. [KJV]
5:18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill
him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said
also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God. [KJV]
7:1 After these things Jesus walked in Galilee:
for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to
kill him. [KJV]
7:19 Did not Moses
give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why
go ye about to kill me? [KJV]
8:37-44 I know
that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, because
my word hath no place in you. I speak that which I have
seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with
your father. They answered and said unto
him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If
ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.
But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you
the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.
Ye do the deeds of your father. Then
said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one
Father, even God. Jesus said unto them, If
God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth
and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot
hear my word. Ye are of your father the devil, and the
lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the
beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no
truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own:
for he is a liar, and the father of it. [KJV]
11:45-53 Then many of the Jews which came to
Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on
him. But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees,
and told them what things Jesus had done. Then gathered
the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What
do we? for this man doeth many miracles. If we let him
thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall
come and take away both our place and nation. And one
of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year,
said unto them, Ye know nothing at all, Nor consider
that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the
people, and that the whole nation perish not. And this
spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year,
he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;
And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather
together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.
Then from that day forth they took counsel together for
to put him to death. [KJV]
12:13-14 Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth;
and it was restored whole, like as the other. Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against
him, how they might destroy him.[KJV]
26:1-3 And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished
all these sayings, he said unto his disciples, Ye
know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and
the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified. Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes,
and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high
priest, who was called Caiaphas, [KJV]
22:2 And the chief priests and scribes sought
how they might kill him; for they feared the people. [KJV]
11:17-18 And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not
written, My house shall be called of all nations the house
of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves. And
the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they
might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people
was astonished at his doctrine.
14:1 After two days was the feast of the passover,
and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes
sought how they might take him by craft, and put him to death.
14:55 And the chief priests and all the council
sought for witness against Jesus to put him to death; and
found none. [KJV]
8:57-59 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art
not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
Jesus said unto them, Verily,
verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid
himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst
of them, and so passed by. [KJV]
10:31 Then the Jews took up stones again to
stone him. [KJV]
10:39 Therefore they sought again to take him:
but he escaped out of their hand, [KJV]
Jews Did Kill Jesus
15:10 For he knew that the chief priests had
delivered him for envy. [KJV]
15:15 And so Pilate, willing to content the people,
released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he
had scourged him, to be crucified. [KJV]
2:22-23 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus
of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and
wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you,
as ye yourselves also know: Him, being delivered by the
determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken,
and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: [KJV]
3:12-15 And when Peter saw it, he answered unto
the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why
look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or
holiness we had made this man to walk? The God of Abraham,
and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified
his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the
presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.
But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired
a murderer to be granted unto you; And killed the Prince
of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are
5:27-30 And when they had brought them, they
set them before the council: and the high priest asked them,
Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should
not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem
with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon
us. Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said,
We ought to obey God rather than men. The God of our
fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.
Thes. 2:14-15 For ye, brethren, became followers
of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus:
for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen,
even as they have of the Jews: Who both killed the Lord
Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and
they please not God, and are contrary to all men: [KJV]
7:52-53 Which of the prophets have not your
fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed
before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been
now the betrayers and murderers: Who have received the
law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it.
of Christians in Early Church
Jews persecuted and killed our Lord and Saviour, Jesus the
Christ (Messiah). But, the Bible clearly stated Jesus had
to die. See: Messianic
the Jews also persecuted the early church too.
4:1-18 And as they spake unto the people, the
priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees,
came upon them, Being grieved that they taught the people,
and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto
the next day: for it was now eventide. Howbeit many of
them which heard the word believed; and the number of the
men was about five thousand.
And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers,
and elders, and scribes, And Annas the high priest, and
Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of
the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at
Jerusalem. And when they had set them in the midst, they
asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?
Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them,
Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, If we this
day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man,
by what means he is made whole; Be it known unto you
all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of
Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised
from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before
you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought
of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none
other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be
saved. Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John,
and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they
marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had
been with Jesus. And beholding the man which was healed
standing with them, they could say nothing against it.
But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council,
they conferred among themselves, Saying, What shall we
do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been
done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem;
and we cannot deny it. But that it spread no further
among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they
speak henceforth to no man in this name. And they called
them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in
the name of Jesus. [KJV] The
apostles were forbidden to speak or teach of Jesus.
5:17-18 Then the high priest rose up, and all
they that were with him, (which is the sect of the Sadducees,)
and were filled with indignation, And laid their hands
on the apostles, and put them in the common prison. [KJV]
5:40 And to him they agreed: and when they had
called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that
they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
7:30-58 And when forty years were expired, there
appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sina an angel of
the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush. When Moses saw
it, he wondered at the sight: and as he drew near to behold
it, the voice of the Lord came unto him, Saying, I am
the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of
Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Then Moses trembled, and durst
not behold. Then said the Lord to him, Put off thy shoes
from thy feet: for the place where thou standest is holy ground.
I have seen, I have seen the affliction of my people
which is in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning, and am
come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send thee
into Egypt. This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who
made thee a ruler and a judge? the same did God send to be
a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel which appeared
to him in the bush. He brought them out, after that he
had shewed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in
the Red sea, and in the wilderness forty years.
This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel,
A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your
brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear. This is he,
that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which
spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who
received the lively oracles to give unto us: To whom
our fathers would not obey, but thrust him from them, and
in their hearts turned back again into Egypt, Saying
unto Aaron, Make us gods to go before us: for as for this
Moses, which brought us out of the land of Egypt, we wot not
what is become of him. And they made a calf in those
days, and offered sacrifice unto the idol, and rejoiced in
the works of their own hands. Then God turned, and gave
them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in
the book of the prophets, O ye house of Israel, have ye offered
to me slain beasts and sacrifices by the space of forty years
in the wilderness? Yea, ye took up the tabernacle of
Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, figures which ye
made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Babylon.
Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness,
as he had appointed, speaking unto Moses, that he should make
it according to the fashion that he had seen. Which also
our fathers that came after brought in with Jesus into the
possession of the Gentiles, whom God drave out before the
face of our fathers, unto the days of David; Who found
favour before God, and desired to find a tabernacle for the
God of Jacob. But Solomon built him an house. Howbeit
the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as
saith the prophet, Heaven is my throne, and earth is
my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord:
or what is the place of my rest? Hath not my hand made
all these things? Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye
do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do
ye. Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted?
and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming
of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and
murderers: Who have received the law by the disposition
of angels, and have not kept it.
When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart,
and they gnashed on him with their teeth. But he, being
full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven,
and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right
hand of God, And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened,
and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.
Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears,
and ran upon him with one accord, And cast him out of
the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their
clothes at a young man's feet, whose name was Saul. [KJV]
Stephen honors Moses in his speech just before the Jews stoned
him to death. Israel would have cast Moses far away from them
and returned to slavery in Egypt if they had their way.
the the voice of the Lord called out to Moses, I am the
God of your ancestors . . . the God of Abraham, Isaac, and
Jacob, Moses shook with terror and dared not look. Abraham,
Isaac and Jacob were dead, yet God is still their God . .
. so, that means they are still alive. This is the life and
immortality revealed to us in the Gospel!
Stephen preached on Jesus, but the Jews refuses to listen,
being more angered with every word that Stephen spoke. He
accused them of killing Jesus in verse 52. That was the last
straw. The Jewish leaders were infuriated by Stephen's accusation.
But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed steadily upward
into heaven and saw the glory of God, and he said he saw Jesus
standing in the place of honor at God's right hand. When Stephen
said that, they put their hands over their ears to drown out
his voice, and killed him.
majority of people in the world today (Jews and Gentiles)
refuse to accept and obey Jesus (Messiah), because they love
this present evil world and they rejoice in their own works,
pleasure and plans for wickedness.
8:1 And Saul was consenting unto his death. And
at that time there was a great persecution against the church
which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad
throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.
was before Saul's (Paul) conversion.
8:3 As for Saul, he made havock of the church,
entering into every house, and haling men and women committed
them to prison. [KJV]
devil is very strong. Saul (Paul) really thought he was doing
right until he met Jesus on the road to Damascus.
21:27-32 And when the seven days were almost
ended, the Jews which were of Asia, when they saw him in the
temple, stirred up all the people, and laid hands on him,
Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that
teacheth all men every where against the people, and the law,
and this place: and further brought Greeks also into the temple,
and hath polluted this holy place. (For they had seen
before with him in the city Trophimus an Ephesians, whom they
supposed that Paul had brought into the temple.) And
all the city was moved, and the people ran together: and they
took Paul, and drew him out of the temple: and forthwith the
doors were shut. And as they went about to kill him,
tidings came unto the chief captain of the band, that all
Jerusalem was in an uproar. Who immediately took soldiers
and centurions, and ran down unto them: and when they saw
the chief captain and the soldiers, they left beating of Paul.
Paul's conversion, he too was persecuted by the Jews.
23:12 And when it was day, certain of the Jews
banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying
that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed
Jews conspired to kill Paul, vowing they would not eat or
drink until they had killed Paul.
Cor. 11:24 Of the Jews five times received I
forty stripes save one. [KJV]
once, not twice, but five times the Jews beat Paul with 39
is no doubt in my mind that the Jews would persecute believers
today if we would try to tell them about the Christ (Messiah),
our Lord and Saviour, and only way to God the Father (John
14:6; Acts 4:12).
24:47 And that
repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his
name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. [KJV]
we as His disciples obey our Lord's commands? Are
we really true disciples?
fall short, how about you?
Jesus (Messiah) pronounced judgment on the Jews for rejecting
say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you,
and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. [KJV] Very strong language!
called the Jews "hypocrites."
23:13-15 But woe
unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up
the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves,
neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in. Woe
unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour
widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore
ye shall receive the greater damnation. Woe unto you,
scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and
land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him
twofold more the child of hell than yourselves. [KJV]
23:23 Woe unto
you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of
mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier
matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought
ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. [KJV]
23:27 Woe unto
you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto
whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward,
but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. [KJV]
23:29 Woe unto
you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the
tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous, [KJV]
called the Jews "blind."
23:16-17 Woe unto
you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by
the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the
gold of the temple, he is a debtor! Ye fools and blind:
for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth
the gold? [KJV]
23:19 Ye fools
and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar
that sanctifieth the gift? [KJV]
23:24-26 Ye blind
guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make
clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within
they are full of extortion and excess. Thou blind Pharisee,
cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that
the outside of them may be clean also. [KJV]
called the Jews "white-washed tombstones."
23:27-31 Woe unto
you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto
whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward,
but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.
Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men,
but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity. Woe
unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build
the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the
righteous, And say, If we had been in the days of our
fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the
blood of the prophets. Wherefore ye be witnesses unto
yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed
the prophets. [KJV]
called the Jews "a brood of vipers."
12:34 O generation
of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for
out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. [KJV]
23:33 Ye serpents,
ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of
in His mercy sent His only begotten Son to save us from sin
and its consequences. And the Jews were too blind and stubborn
to SEE their Messiah!
1:1-13 In the beginning was the Word, and the
Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was
in the beginning with God.  All things were made by him;
and without him was not any thing made that was made.
In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And
the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended
it not. [KJV] Jesus is the Word. Jesus is the Messiah!
1:10-11 He was in the world, and the world was
made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto
his own, and his own received him not. [KJV] This is
an extremely sad Passage! Jesus was a Jew, but they could
not see Him and they wouldn't accept Him. They
(the Jews) received Him not!
though the Old testament clearly shows when and where and
how He would come, the vast majority of Jews rejected Him,
and still do.
God in His wisdom, ordained Jesus to be Saviour of the world.
He is the ONLY way to God the Father.
John 1:12-13 But
as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the
sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which
were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor
of the will of man, but of God. [KJV]
John 5:10-12 He that believeth on the Son of
God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God
hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record
that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that
God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his
Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath
not the Son of God hath not life. [KJV]
is ONLY one TRUE God in the Universe. That God is the God
of the Bible, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. And that
God is the same God of the Jews and the Gentiles. There is
NOT a God of the Jews and another god for the Gentiles. The
Bible makes this very clear!
this one Almighty Creator God has made only ONE Way to reach
Him in His Home (Heaven), and that Way is Jesus (the Messiah).
14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I
am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the
Father, but by me. [KJV]
4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other:
for there is none other name under heaven given among men,
whereby we must be saved. [KJV]
8:24 I said therefore
unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe
not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. [KJV]
