LIES
ABOUT CHRISTIANITY
DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THEM?
The
majority of people are always right. Everybody will
finally end up in Heaven. NOT TRUE!
Matthew
7:13-14 Enter
ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and
broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many
there be which go in thereat: [14] Because strait is
the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto
life, and few there be that find it. [KJV] Jesus' words. The gate that leads to eternal life
is called narrow. This
doesn't mean that it is hard to become a Christian,
but that there is only one way to live eternally with
God, and there are only a few that decide to walk that
road. The longer we walk that small
road, the easier it becomes. Believing in Jesus is the
only way to Heaven, because He alone died for our sins
and made us right before God (Rom.5:1). Living His way
may not be popular, but it is the only true and right
wayto go.
John
10:9 I am
the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved,
and shall go in and out, and find pasture. [KJV] We are the sheep; Jesus is the Shepherd and the
Gate and the gate to eternal life. Only He offers access
to safety and security. Some people resent that Jesus
is the gate, the only way of access to God and Heaven.
But it is Truth none the less. Jesus is God's Son, and
God's only plan to eternal life in Heaven with Him.
John
14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I
am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto
the Father, but by me. [KJV] Jesus
says He is the only way to God the Father. Some say
this way is too narrow. But, the truth is, it is wide
enough for the whole world, IF the world chooses to
accept it. The Way is open to whosoever.
If
I'm good enough, God will allow me into Heaven. NOT
TRUE!
Many
think the good they have done, will outweigh the bad;
and if the good is greater than the bad, Heaven is theirs.
WRONG! Some think a "Loving God will never send
me to Hell." WRONG! Unless you have accepted Jesus
as your Saviour and Lord, you are doomed for the pits
of Hell. See articles on Hell.
John
3:18 He that
believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth
not is condemned already, because he hath not believed
in the name of the only begotten Son of God. [KJV]
John
3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath
everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son
shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on
him. [KJV]
John
8:24 I said therefore unto
you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe
not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. [KJV]
Ephes.
2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through
faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of
God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast.
[KJV]
ALL
religions lead people to Heaven. NOT
TRUE!
The
Bible tells us that we must be especially careful in
these "last days," for there will be MANY
false doctrines.
Matthew
7:15 Beware
of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing,
but inwardly they are ravening wolves. [KJV] BEWARE of those who sound religious but are
motivated by money, fame, or power. They minimize Christ
and glorify themselves.
2
Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets
also among the people, even as there shall be false
teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable
heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and
bring upon themselves swift destruction. [KJV]
False teachers tell people only what they want to hear,
twisting Christ's words and His Gospel. They belittle
the significance of Jesus' life, death, and resurrection.
Some claimed that Jesus couldn't be God; others claimed
that he couldn' t have been a real man.
1
Timothy 4:1-2 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly,
that in the latter times some shall depart from the
faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines
of devils; [2] Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their
conscience seared with a hot iron; [KJV] Don't
be impressed by a teacher's style or credentials. Always check out their teaching about Jesus Christ.
Their conclusions about Christ show the source of their
message.
So
how does one tell the TRUE Gospel from a false gospel?
- Does
the Teaching Distinguish Jesus Christ as the Son
of God and the Only Way of Salvation? True teaching agrees that Jesus Christ is
God's unique Son, and that He became a human being
(1 John 4:2). Most cults deny Christ's deity,
recognizing Him only as a great teacher or, as Jehovah's
Witnesses claim, simply God's first created creature.
- Does
the Teaching Agree with Scripture? The
Bereans were commended because they searched the Scriptures day
after day to check up on [their statements] to see if they were
really teaching the truth (Acts 17:11). Don't ever take any pastor's
or teacher's word as truth. Check it out with God's Word first.
- Do
Most People Accept as Truth the Teaching? Just because a teaching is highly popular and accepted
does not make it a correct teaching. For instance, relativism,
or the idea that people can live any way they want, as long as
they are true to themself, is a popular belief. God's Word teaches
differently. Most often, if the message is really from God, the
world won't listen to it (1 John 4:6). The more you study
God's Word, the more you will be able to quickly identify the
counterfeits.
- Aren't
Other Religions Just As Good As Christianity? Acts
4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for
there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby
we must be saved. [KJV] Some people say that all religions
essentially say and teach the same thing, so they must all be
true. If a person is really sincere in what he or she believes,
he or she will get to heaven. In
reality, all belief systems cannot be true, because they contradict
one another. People like to think that all religions
blend together beautifully, but they do not. Look at the differences
between what the followers of three major world religions believe
compared with what Christians believe.
- The
Existence of a Personal God. Buddhists deny the existence of a personal God. Hindus believe in
two major gods, Vishnu and Siva, as well as in millions of lesser
gods. Muslims believe in one God named Allah. Christians believe
that God is a Being who created humans in His own image and who
loves them and wants to have a personal relationship with them.
- The
Subject of Salvation. Buddhists believe salvation is by self-effort only. Hindus believe
you achieve salvation by devotion, works, and self-control. Muslims
believe that people earn their own salvation and pay for their own
sins. Christians believe that Jesus Christ died for their sins.
If people turn from their sins and follow Jesus, they can be forgiven
and have the hope of being with Jesus in Heaven.
- The
Person of Jesus Christ. Buddhists believe that Jesus Christ was a good teacher, but
less important then Buddha. Hindus believe that Jesus was just
one of many incarnations, or sons of God. Yet they also declare
that Christ was not the unique Son of God. He was no more divine
than any other man, and He did not die for people's sins. Muslims
believe that Jesus Christ was the greatest of the prophets below
Muhammad. They also do not believe that Christ died for the sins
of the world. Christians believe that Jesus is God as well as
man, that He was sinless, and that He died to redeem mankind.
You cannot possibly believe in all of the major religious beliefs.
Every religion eventually contradicts the claims of Christianity
in some way.
It really does matter what you believe! Your eternal existance
could depend on what You believe this day! The Bible has the answer!
Check
it out! Don't believe me.
