WHY Is It Always Wise to Wait on God?

There are many GOOD reasons why we should wait on God!

#1. It is wise to wait on God because He can give clear directions ONLY when we trust Him to do His best for us, and are willing to wait for Him. God does NOT operate like the world does! Instant gratification is what today’s society want! God does NOT give us instant gratification every time we go to Him in prayer! Yes, there are times when He may do this, but the vast majority of times, He makes us wait on Him!
We, as believers, live differently than the world does. We should NOT be prompted by the world, we should be prompted by God. ONLY God will give us right directions, and we should be willing to wait until He is ready to give to do so. Psalm 32:8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. (KJV)  . . . We must be willing to wait until He is ready to guide us. A Christian life is NOT easy, that is why Jesus says that only a few will make it to Heaven. Matthew 7:13-14 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14  Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (KJV) . . . Most people are on their way to the everlasting destruction of Hell, according to the Bible. This is SAD, because they can go to Heaven IF they really wanted to . . . . . . . . . . . http://www.hisservants.org/truth_about_salvation_h_s.htm

#2. It is wise to wait because God uses that waiting period to get us in step with His timing, which gives us peace! BUT . . . when we try to run ahead of Him, we will foolishly try to figure out how to make our decisions work. Instead of peace, we will have chaos.

#3. It is always wise to wait because God uses the time of waiting to prepare us for the answer that He will send our way. This time of waiting increases our faith.

#4. It is always wise to wait on the Lord because waiting strengthens and increases our faith. You may think that you have all the faith you need, but God may be preparing you for some big hardship that He will let come your way. When we finally know in our heart, that God is more interested in our character than in our comfort, waiting is much more pleasant to withstand.

#5. It is always wise to wait because as we wait, God gets our attention and examines our motives. If we allow God to inspect our motives, the truth will surface . . . be it good or bad. It really is amazing what we learn about ourselves in these waiting periods.

Summary: it is wise to wait because:
#1. He gives clear direction.
#2. He gets us in step with Himself.
#3. He prepares us for what He has in store for us.
#4. He strengthens our faith.
#5. He gets our attention and examines our motives.

Waiting on God is one of the more difficult things in the Christian life, but it is NEVER time wasted. God teaches us His love, His merciful compassion, His motives, His reasons and His way of doing things. All these things are needed as we walk in the light of Jesus, for they help keep us in step with Him, ready us for His answers, and He uses these times of waiting to examine our motives and strengthen our faith.

With so many advantages of waiting on God, WHY do so many rush ahead as if they do not trust the Lord? We serve an awesome God, who will amaze us with what He is doing . . . IF we wait patiently on Him and watch Him work.
