How Should I Handle a Difficult Trial?

1 Peter 1:6-7 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: 7  That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: (KJV) . . . Even those strong in the faith, who keep a close, intimate relationship with the Lord Jesus are not immune to difficulties, disappointments, frustrations, problems and feelings of hopelessness. There are times, when God allows us to face what seems to be an impossible situation, to check out our faith in Him. WHY? because it is the adversity and harsh conditions that motivate us to seek Him, and when we do, He will ALWAYS faithfully strengthen and refresh us.

Our Lord Jesus was a Man, so He KNOWS our every emotion, every need and every desire we have. He cares when we face difficult situations and grow weary. He hears our cries and understands exactly what it will take to bring us into a more intimate relationship with Him.

Early Christians faced all kinds of persecution. They were beaten, slandered, assaulted, and in many cases lost their lives for their faith in Jesus Christ. I think that America is on the road to much greater persecution in the very near future. Our government is making it more and more difficult all the time to be able to speak the Name of Jesus. I think soon, it will be prison, for speaking the blessed Name of Jesus. What we must remember is, as long as we stand firm in our faith, we have the Lord Jesus Christ, and NO situation is hopeless. We are strangers in this world (Eph.2:19; 1 Pet.1:1; 2:11). Heaven is our eternal Home.
Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; (KJV) . . . Would you like to have this eternal hope? There is only one way to have it! Focus your heart on Jesus, and your eyes on the Holy Word of God!

Even when you find yourself in a situation that seems impossible, remember that the Lord has an entirely different view of the details and results! And if you will just allow Him, He will take your life, no matter how battered, bruised and broken, and make something beautiful out of it.

Isaiah 61:1-3 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; 2  To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; 3  To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified. (KJV) . . . Isn’t this what hope is . . . beauty for ashes, joy and gladness instead of grief, a song of praise instead of sorrow. This is the ongoing ministry of Jesus Christ in your life. For that reason, bring to Him your afflictions and disappointments. Tell Him your sorrows, and He will restore your hope.
