Moral Decay in USA is in High Gear
God CANNOT Lie!
He considers false doctrines to be "damnable". Damnable = perdition,
pernicious. Actually, heresies are an abomination to Almighty God! Abomination = a detestation, idolatry. God HATES false doctrines and false teachers and false prophets who spout them shall be punished! Psalm 7:11; 78:58; Pro.19:27-28; Isa.1:4; 32:6; Jer.7:18; 23:16,32, 25:7; Mat.15:9; Mark 8:15; Acts 20:30; 2 Cor.11:4,13; Gal.5:9; Eph.5:6; Col.2:8; Tit.2:8; Heb.13:9; 2 John 1:10; Rev.2:14; 18:3,6; 20:15.
Revelation 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (KJV)
UPC Churches are known as "Jesus Only" churches because they reject the Godhead (the Trinity). They also teach that you must be baptized in water and speak in tongues or you are not saved. They hold to 'Holiness' standards of dress and appearance and recreational activities as do other 'Holiness' Churches. There are about 600,000 in the USA and about 3 million worldwide. UPCI trace their roots back to the Pentecostal Movement at the turn of the 1900's. Some Pentecostals are known as "Oneness" or "Jesus Only" Pentecostals, because they do not believe in the Trinity, and believe water baptism is necessary to get one's sins remitted. The form for being baptized was in Jesus' Name only; NOT in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. UPCI also believe that speaking in tongues is evidence of being baptized by the Holy Spirit, and if a person does not speak in tongues, they are NOT saved.
Really Messed Up UPCI Heresy!
The doctrinal views of UPCI embrace the demonic Pentecostal view that speaking in tongues is the initial sign of receiving the Holy Spirit. WHY didn't the Apostle John ever mention speaking in tongues in any of his epistles, or his Gospel? The reason that the writing of 1st John is found is quite clear. 1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. (KJV)
IF baptism and speaking in tongues are necessary for salvation, WHY didn't John mention either of these things when the reason he wrote this letter was so that we could KNOW we have eternal life? IF it were necessary, it would have been clearly added to John's words in his letter! It is NOT in there! So, it is NOT a necessity for salvation!
United Pentecostal Churches and Water Baptism
United Pentecostal Churches teach that water baptism is necessary to get to Heaven. This differs in teaching from other Pentecostal/Holiness Churches. Their mode of baptism must be by immersion and the "formula" (as they call it) must be "in Jesus' Name" only; NOT "in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost" (Mat. 28:19) where JESUS Himself CLEARLY tells us how to do it.
1 Peter 3:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: (KJV) . . . UPCI also attempt to use this Scripture to insist that water baptism is a must for salvation. What about the thief on the cross? (Luke 23:43). He was NOT baptized! Lutherans also pervert the Gospel by using this same Scripture. Do not take Scripture out of context. If you read the entire chapter of 1Peter 3, you will see that Peter was talking about Christian living. he was NOT speaking about salvation of our soul; but the believer's life.
United Pentecostal Churches and the Trinity
UPCI rejects the doctrine of the Godhead (Trinity), and believe that 'Jesus Only' is God, NOT the Holy Spirit, NOT the Father. That is NOT what the Bible teaches! The Word of God clearly teaches the Godhead. True, the word "Trinity" may not be in the Bible; but the word "Godhead certainly is! (Acts 17:29; Rom.1:20; Col.2:9).
How can anyone deny the Godhead, the Trinity? Mat.3:16-17 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. (KJV) . . . It is absolutely ridiculous for anyone to deny the Godhead. There is only ONE God (Deut.6:4); but He has manifest (revealed) Himself to mankind in three individual Persons. It may not make earthly sense; but it is TRUE and solid teaching from the Word of God.
United Pentecostal Churches and Salvation
United Pentecostal Churches believe that water baptism is necessary for salvation in order to get one's sins forgiven, and that one must speak in tongues in order to be saved (which they claim is evidence of the baptism by the Holy Spirit).
UPC churches believe that to remain saved, a person must continue to live a a life of faithfulness and holiness and continue to 'believe' in Christ. NO way my friend! This is self-righteousness. Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. (KJV) . . . IF I can do NO good works to be saved, then HOW can I possibly do any good works to keep it? NO way! Salvation is of God. (Jonah 2:9). It is utter foolishness to believe the destructive and damnable heresies which so many professing "Christians" trust! But then, they are not Christians at all, they are imposters in the Body of Christ . . . hypocrites! Man has always, out of fear or pride, added something to the finished work of Christ. WHY is it so hard for people to leave God's salvation alone? No man can save himself! United Pentecostal Churches are foolish to deny the Godhead, and to require baptism and speaking in tongues for salvation. These are WORKS added to God's salvation. Every person who follows the teachings of UPCI will go to Hell.
United Pentecostal Churches and Eternal Security
United Pentecostal Churches teach that salvation can be lost. If a born again believer STOPS believing and turns his back on Christ, the UPC, as well as other Pentecostal and Holiness bodies, believe salvation can be lost. The believer, therefore, is kept saved and secure by God . . . as long as the believer CONTINUES to believe in the Lord. This differs from Baptists and others who teach the TRUE Christian is Once Saved, Always Saved, and will make it to Heaven once he is truly saved. See: . . . . . http://www.hisservants.org/OSAS_1_eternal_security_h_s.htm
The UPC states that they believe in the 'eternal security of the believer', BUT, only as long as the 'believer' continues 'believing'. Therefore, The UPC teaches that one can have 'assurance' that he is going to Heaven as long as he stays faithful to the Lord and KEEPS believing. Double-talk.
King David sinned multiple times throughout the Bible; but he did NOT lose his salvation. He lost the joy of thy salvation (Ps.51:12) for a time; but NOT his salvation. As far as assurance is concerned, for all practical purposes, the UPC teaches that one CANNOT know for sure he is going to make it to Heaven until he is actually there, because they teach it is possible for a person to 'lose' salvation after he has been born-again if that person continues in an unrepentant backslidden state. There is NO such teaching in the Bible. 1Cor.3:15 states: "If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire." There will be many Christians in Heaven who will have just barely escaped the fires of Hell, and will have absolutely no rewards! The Bible teaches we CAN KNOW we have salvation and are going to Heaven (John 20:31; 1 John 5:13).
Oneness doctrine dethrones Jesus Christ from His position as Creator (John 1:3,10; Eph.3:9; Col.1:16-17; Heb.1:2,10; Rev.3:14; 4:10) because it denies that He existed before Bethlehem. It also denies (among many other essential doctrines) the biblical doctrine of the Incarnation, stating that the role of the Father, not the Son, manifested or appeared in flesh without actually becoming flesh. It denies the distinction of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and thus denies God Himself.
