God CANNOT Lie!
What is spiritual blindness?"
To be spiritually blind is not to see Christ, and not to see Christ is not to see God (Col.1:15-16; 2 Cor.4:6). Spiritual blindness is a dangerous condition experienced by those who do not believe in God, Jesus Christ, and His Word (Rom.2:8; 2 Thes.2:12). ANYONE who rejects Christ is lost (John 6:68-69). All who are spiritually blind, are perishing (2 Cor.4:3-4; Rev.3:17). These people choose not to accept Jesus’ authority in their lives, not do they accept His teachings (Luke 9:26; 10:16; 20:17; John 1:11; 3:11,32; 5:38,43; 6:36; 7:12; 12:48; 16:9).
They are blind to the manifestations of God as revealed all through His Word and in His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ (John 1:1,14; Acts 28:26-27).
Psalm 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. (KJV)
Proverbs 21:24 Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who dealeth in proud wrath. (KJV)
Isaiah 5:25 Therefore is the anger of the LORD kindled against his people, and he hath stretched forth his hand against them, and hath smitten them: and the hills did tremble, and their carcases were torn in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still. (KJV)
Isaiah 37:23 Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel. (KJV)
1 Cor. 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. (KJV)
2 Peter 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, (KJV)
Jude 1:18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. (KJV)
Matthew 7:26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: (KJV)
ALL those who reject Christ and His Word are spiritually blind and cannot understand the Truth of the Scriptures simply because they have NO desire to know the things of God (Mark 8:33;1 Cor.2:10,11;14). The Truth sounds foolish to them (Isa.5:25; 37:23). The Bible describes anyone denying God as fools (Ps.14:1; Mat.7:26). Because of their blindness and rejection of God and His Word, they are in a perilous, unsaved condition (John 12:48; Heb.2:2-4).
The spiritually blind are simply unable to understand God's Word (Deut.29:4; Mat.13:13). Jesus said: John 14:15-17 If ye love me, keep my commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. (KJV)
Paul said likewise: Romans 8:8-9 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. (KJV) . . . Those outside of Christ are NOT God’s children because their lives are drenched in the things of the world with all its passions, and their eyes are blind to Jesus and the Spirit of God. The Apostle John said: 1 John 2:15-17 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. (KJV)
WHAT is the cause of spiritual blindness? 2 Cor. 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. (KJV) . . . Satan is the “god of this world.”
Satan is capable of extraordinary evil. John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. (KJV)
Satan masquerades as an angel of light. 2 Cor.11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. (KJV)
Satan is the cause of all our temptations, as he was Jesus’ temptations. Luke 4:2 Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered. (KJV)
Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. (KJV)
1 Cor. 7:5 Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency. (KJV)
Satan in never happier than when he schemes against and traps believers. 2 Cor. 2:11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. (KJV)
Eph. 6:11-12 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (KJV)
2 Tim. 2:26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will. (KJV)
Satan’s ultimate goal is to devour the weak who fall prey to depression, fear, loneliness, temptation, persecution and worry. 1 Peter 5:8-9 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. (KJV)
1 Thes. 5:6-8 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. (KJV)
If a person is without God and left to themselves, they easily fall for the devil’s schemes. These people can become so mired down in the affairs of this world and its immoral darkness, that in the end, God turns us over to spiritual blindness and eternal condemnation. John 3:17-18 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (KJV)
John 12:40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them. (KJV)
Romans 1:24-32 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. (KJV) . . . Emphasis mine. What a sad statement! “God gave them up.” Man’s degradation and degeneration is on a constant downhill path, NOT the other way as some would have you believe. Man is in steady and growing rebellion against God. Idolatry and disgraceful immorality are the bitter ‘fruits’ of rejecting God’s clear revelation of Himself. God giving a person up means He literally ‘hands them over’ to their own lusts, and to Satan. Three times, God states He will “give them up” . . . because people refuse to keep in mind the Truth about God. If someone stubbornly persists in their immorality, He will give them over to their corrupted minds, allowing them to do things that they should not do. If anyone thinks they can live in the perversion of this ‘modern’ day, and NOT come under God’s wrath, they fool only themselves. Is there a way out? A definite YES! Repent and turn to Christ for deliverance.
As sincere believers in Christ Jesus, we have the Spirit of God within us (Rom.8:9; 1 Jn.4:4), reigning in our lives to ward off the devastating effects of Satan’s power and the world’s influence. 1 John 4:15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. (KJV) . . . If a person does not have the Holy Spirit dwelling within them, they are NOT God’s children. Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. (KJV)
Satan is always at war with us. He does not stop. He fights us inside and out! His weapons are crafty schemes, deceit and outright lies which make us doubt our awesome God, and stumble around like it was a dark night. 2 Cor. 2:11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. (KJV)
Eph. 4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; (KJV)
But we must remember that God has provided us with some powerful weapons to stop his flaming arrows. Eph. 6:10-18 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; (KJV)
TRUE believers can overcome the evil one and remain in the Light and NEVER become spiritually blind. John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. (KJV)
