God CANNOT Lie!
EARS SHOULD PAY ATTENTION TO THE LORD,
ARE YOU READY and WILLING TO HEAR HIM?
In the Old Testament, the priesthood had some symbolic lessons that taught the importance of listening, of having ears dedicated to the Lord, and to hear Him. Consider the following:
Leviticus 8:23 And he slew it; and Moses took of the blood of it, and put it upon the tip of Aaron's right ear, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot. (KJV) . . . The ear of the High Priest had to be sanctified by Law. The tip of the right ear was touched with sacrificial blood of an animal. In doing this, the High Priest was pledging to the fact that he recognized the need to listen to the Lord, and promised to hear Him. How does this apply to us? The troublemaking devil does some provocative things trying to get you away from your stand with the Lord. We need to tune out that call of the world, and all the unimportant trash he devil offers. To hear the Lord, we must tune out all worldly voices.
Leviticus 14:14 And the priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass offering, and the priest shall put it upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot: (KJV) (Also Lev.14:17,25,28). . . . The sacrificial blood of a trespass offering and oil, was placed on the tip of the right ear of a cleansed leper, thus he was rededicated to the service of God. How does this apply to us? It reveals that when sin is cleansed out of a sinner at salvation, the ear needs to be likewise dedicated to listening to a new message, not the message of the world, but a message from the Spirit.
Exodus 21:6 Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him for ever. (KJV) . . . The ear lobe of the servant who chose to remain a servant was bored or pierced with an awl, as a token of permanent service. How does this apply to us? This shows that when we commit ourselves to the Lord, and lovingly dedicate ourselves to Him and His will, we need to make sure our ears are part of that loyalty. Far too many say they want to serve the Lord, but they listen and hear all kinds of voices that are NOT of God.
