Eternal Salvation
ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED
Once “In Christ” . . . “In Christ” FOREVER!
Introduction

Some people believe that true believers can fall away from faith, into such terrible sins that will void justification (Rom.3:24; 5:1). And, they believe this happens often. I have been studying the Bible over 40 years now, and I CANNOT find any place, anywhere  to verify this, so I can in NO way go along with this way of thinking. I believe that the Lamb of God takes away sin from those who believe God (1 Jn.5:10-13) and place trust in Him (John 1:29).

Some sins seem bigger and worse TO US than others because their outcome is more serious. Murder seems TO US to be worse than hatred, but NOT to God (1 John 3:15). Adultery seems worse TO US than bad thoughts, but NOT to God (Mat. 5:28). ALL sin, no matter what, makes us sinners, and ALL sin cuts us off from our Holy God. ALL sin leads to death, even seemingly little sins such as white lies, bad thoughts, etc., and the seemingly LITTLE sin of Adam and Eve (Gen.3:1-6), or the seemingly LITTLE sin of Moses (Num. 20:11; Deut. 34:5-6) because it disqualifies us from living with God, no matter how big or small it seems TO US. ALL sin separates us from God, but they ALL can be forgiven. I believe ALL our sins, past, present and future are covered by the Blood of Jesus. When we commit our lives to Christ and thus identify ourselves with Him, His death becomes ours (Rom.6:6; Gal.2:20). He has paid the penalty for our sins, ALL our sins, and His precious Blood has purified us (1 Pet.1:18-19). God applies Christ Jesus’ righteousness to us (1 Cor.1:30).

Eternal Security Is By the Grace of God

The New Testament clearly states that we are saved by grace through faith in the Person and Work of Christ Jesus! Salvation is NOT of ANY human works or ANY works of righteousness which we have done. We could NEVER do enough works to obtain our salvation if we lived 100 tremendously good lives, which would be impossible! We MUST place our trust solely in the Person and Work of Christ Jesus! NOTHING else! To believe or think anything else would simply be to saying that we are saved by works. This is NOT the teaching of the New Testament.

Those who RECEIVE JESUS are saved by the power of God “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” (John 1:12). That "power" is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

All those who received Him is simply based on our heart’s acceptance of Jesus! When a person sincerely believes God (1 Jn.5:10-13), Jesus has the absolute authority to make them sons of God. There is NO question as to their merit, their character or their fitness, it is just the simple condition that anyone (whosoever) sincerely wants the Lord Jesus in their life may have Him. When anyone receives Him, "to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name." Please don’t doubt this! God cannot lie (Tit.1:2).

It is my opinion that we must believe God and receive Jesus into our heart and lives, BUT we must be sincere in our commitment to Him. Jesus makes us a Promise.
Rev. 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. (KJV) This booklet is to give you assurance of “Once Saved, Always Saved”.

Eternal Salvation
ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED
Once “In Christ” . . . “In Christ” FOREVER!
Chapter 1 . . . Eternal Vs Conditional Salvation

  • The Gospel

Eternal Security: Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (KJV) (Mat.10:32; Jn.6:29; Rom.10:9; 1 Jn.4:15)
Conditional Security: Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (KJV)  . . .So far, so good.

  • Salvation

Eternal Security: Instantaneous and complete work of God that gives TRUE believers an eternal result when they believe God and sincerely repent. (1 Jn.5:10-13)
Conditional Security: Not a one-time act but a continuing process of believing and keeping from sin. . . . We CANNOT keep from sin (Rom.3:10,23).

  • Faith

Eternal Security: Once a person believes on/in Christ, he/she never stops believing.
Conditional Security: Believers decide they don't want to believe any more. . . . A person either believes or does not believe . . . period!

  • Sin

Eternal Security: ANY sin breaks fellowship with God . . . but does NOT destroy the relationship with God. (1 Jn.1:9). IF sin continues to dominate a professing Christian's life, it is highly unlikely that person was ever saved to start with.
Conditional Security: Sin can break a person's relationship with God if serious enough and continued. Any Christian who sins forfeits his/her salvation. My questions? What kind of sin? And to what extent?

  • Atonement

Eternal Security: The death of Christ Jesus on the cross atoned for ALL a believer's sin: past, present and future.
Conditional Security: Past sins atoned for. . . . Christ paid it ALL! He does NOT have to re-do anything! Once for all was sufficient! ETERNAL redemption Heb.9:12. ONCE for ALL Heb.10:10. WHAT is it that they don't they understand???

  • Works

Eternal Security: Works have NO part in our obtaining salvation. Works are a RESULT (fruit) of salvation, NOT the root (cause) of salvation (Eph.2:8-10)
Conditional Security: Salvation is NOT by works . . . but a believer must remain steadfast, endure, persevere, abide and obey the commandments of the Lord. He/she must acknowledge the Lordship of Christ in every way. . . . Sounds like works to me, and I don’t know of anyone who can “acknowledge the Lordship of Christ in every way.” We will fall short somewhere!

  • Assurance

Eternal Security: Salvation is SURE because it is a Gift and PROMISE from God! (Eph.2:8; Rom.6:23; Jn. 3:15-18). God CANNOT lie (Tit.1:2). We can KNOW we have eternal life (1 Jn.5:13; Jn. 20:31). It is ETERNAL, everlasting . . . never ending in nature (Jn. 3:15-17; 5:24).
Conditional Security: Full assurance is not possible because a person does not know if salvation will continue or end. . . . That is NOT at all true.  Salvation (eternal life in Heaven) is ETERNAL! Once God starts salvation in a person, it does NOT end!

  • Motive for right living

Eternal Security: When a person is TRULY saved, sin is a no-no to them. God takes away the 'want to sin' and replaces it with a deep desire to please Him. Then, when we do sin (and we will), we have a nagging, non-stop need to get right with God . . . NOW! (1 Jn. 1:9). Our motive is to love the Lord God who died for us.
Conditional Security: If a person were eternally secure, they could sin all they wanted to. Believers must be careful because salvation can be lost. . . . This is STIPID!!! I CANNOT go along with this, NO way! (Rom. 6:1-2,15). We do NOT sin all that we want to! Ridiculous!

A TRUE believer can NEVER be lost . . . a TRUE believer CANNOT lose his/her salvation! A TRUE child of God remains God’s child FOR EVER! If anyone is ever lost, he/she was NEVER saved in the first place. Eternal life would NOT be eternal IF it could be lost. HOW can salvation be salvation IF it could be lost?

If just one single saved person were ever lost, God failed, because He promised ETERNAL life! IF just one single saved person is ever lost, Christ is insufficient to keep them saved and God is unfaithful to them. If Jesus starts out with 100 sheep, He will come out on the other side with 100 sheep (Mat.18:11-13).

Once in grace, always in grace, and once a son always a son is perfectly Scriptural. ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED is perfectly Scriptural! In Christ once, in Christ FOREVER! IF we could lose our salvation, HOW could we ever have the peace Jesus promised? (Jn.14:27). Please read your Bible, and please believe God.

Eternal Salvation
ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED
Once “In Christ” . . . “In Christ” FOREVER!
Chapter 2 . . . In Christ Once, In Christ Forever

Scriptures from the Bible Confirming this!

Numbers 21:6-8 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. 7 Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. 8 And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. (KJV) . . . We ALL have been bitten by the sin snake! Only when we look up in faith to the One on the cross can we live!

John 3:14-15 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. (KJV)

Luke 15:10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth. (KJV) . . . I do not think that the angels rejoice unless a person is sincere in their repentance. I think . . . NO, I know that they have that knowledge.

Luke 21:18 But there shall not an hair of your head perish. (KJV) . . Jesus promises NO harm spiritually or eternally to God's TRUE children.

Luke 22:62 And Peter went out, and wept bitterly. (KJV) . . . WHY? Did Peter weep? Because he LIED about something very important. Peter denied his Master, and when he remembered what Jesus had said (Lu. 22:61), he was cut to the heart.

John 1:11-12 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: (KJV) . . . Tremendous Passage in my eyes. IF we do NOT come to Him (Israel and US), He cannot make us God's children because God will NOT force His wishes on anyone. . . BUT when we "receive Him" Jesus has abundant power to place us into the family of God! Once we are there . . . we are there for ever! God will NOT tell us tomorrow when we sin, that we are no longer part of His family. God is NOT the author of confusion! (1 Cor. 14:33)

John 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. (KJV) . . . Eternal Life is mentioned 26 times in the New Testament. Eternal = everlasting, never ending, forever, non-stop, etc. When God grants us eternal life, we have it FOR EVER! He does NOT take it away! Verse 15 says “eternal”.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (KJV) . . . EVERLASTING life! Verse 16 says “everlasting”. SAME Thing!!!

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. (KJV) . . . EVERLASTING life! Everlasting life is mentioned 10 times in the New Testament.

John 4:13-14 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: 14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. (KJV) . . . EVERLASTING life!

John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (KJV) . . . EVERLASTING life! This is a marvelous verse because of that word "hath". Hath = HAS! We HAVE eternal life NOW!

John 6:27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. (KJV) . . . EVERLASTING life!

John 6:28-29 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? 29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. (KJV) . . . NO works! Just BELIEVE!

John 6:33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. (KJV) . . . The life Jesus gives is ETERNAL! NO end at any time!

John 6:39-40 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. 40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. (KJV) . . . In Christ once, there for ever! Jesus will lose NOTHING! NO ONE! Believe it friend!

John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. (KJV) . . . There is that wonderful word “hath” again! EVERLASTING life, now!

John 10:27-29 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. (KJV) . . . Only Jesus can give us ETERNAL life!

John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; (KJV) . . . Fulfilled the Day of Pentecost. If a person does not have the Holy Spirit abiding within, they are NOT God's children! (Rom.8:9). Once a person HAS the Holy Spirit . . . He NEVER leaves you! NEVER!!! He is with God's TRUE children for ever!  YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SPEAK IN TONGUES TO RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT! He simply is a GIFT to ALL who believe God (1 Jn.5:10-12) and believe that Jesus took your place on the cross.

2 John 1:2 For the truth's sake, which dwelleth in us, and shall be with us for ever. (KJV) . . . God does NOT lie, He CANNOT lie (Tit.1:2).

John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. (KJV). . . Someone who has NOT "received" Christ in sincerity CANNOT receive the Holy Spirit (Spirit of Truth). Only when someone's heart is right with God can they ever be sealed by the Holy Spirit (2 Co.1:22; Ep.1:13; 4:30). God does NOT make mistakes! He Knows when a person is sincere! You cannot become God’s child unless you are sincere.

John 14:19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. (KJV) . . . A Promise of eternal life from Jesus!

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (KJV) . . . Jesus promises peace. HOW can anyone have peace if they think they can lose their salvation? Personally, I think it is impossible!

John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. (KJV) . . . Jesus tells us EXACTLY what eternal life is . . . knowing the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom God has sent! Eternal is eternal!

Eternal Salvation
ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED
Once “In Christ” . . . “In Christ” FOREVER!
Chapter 3 . . . NO Degrees to Salvation

There are NO degrees to Salvation! You are either saved OR you are lost . . . NOT Saved! NO one can be partially saved! And NO one can be saved today and lost tomorrow.

Psalm 51:12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. (KJV)  . . . The "joy of salvation" can absolutely be lost! BUT salvation itself CANNOT be lost, ever, because it is ETERNAL!

1 Cor.1:8 Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. (KJV) . . . Trust and belief in Christ Jesus is a tremendous asset! He confirms our reservation in Heaven (Jn. 14:2-3) and because we are justified by faith in Christ (Rom.3:24; 5:1), we shall be blameless at the judgment (1 Cor.1:8; Phil.2:15; 1 Thes.5:23). Heaven is certain for those who are saved . . . BUT depending on your life AFTER your commitment to Christ, you could either gain rewards OR lose rewards that you could have had.

1 Cor. 3:10-15 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. 11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. (KJV) . . . There is a warning in verse 10 as to the building . . . the foundation has already been laid by God, and that is Jesus Christ! We cannot build on any other, because the only Foundation recognized by God has been already laid (Isa.28:16). The "gold, silver, precious stones" are teachings and works that will with stand the fiery test of judgment. “Wood, hay, stubble," are those which shall be burned up . . . heresies and all other 'works' not done to edify the church. ALL done for Jesus with a pure heart and pure motives shall withstand the fires of judgment. Reward given. All else shall be burned up. NO reward.

2 Cor.5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. (KJV) . . . Again, all done for Christ shall stand! We all shall be judged, every person who has ever lived. The destiny of TRUE believers has been decided, Heaven! Only what we have done AFTER we are saved shall be judged, because when we were saved, our slate was wiped clean! Now, when we sin . . . and we shall, we must go to God and ask to be forgiven, and He graciously consents to do so if we repent! We can lose rewards we could have had, BUT we CANNOT lose our salvation. IF God gives you eternal life, you have it FOR EVER!

1 John 1:8-10 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [10] If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. (KJV) . . . We ALL sin, every day, in some way! But God says If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. . . . My friend, do you see this? Believe it! Salvation CANNOT be lost!

Eternal Salvation
ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED
Once “In Christ” . . . “In Christ” FOREVER!
Chapter 4 . . . Is Eternal Security Biblical?

  • Is Eternal Salvation Biblical?

YES! Absolutely. When anyone believes God (1 John 5:10-13) and receives Christ Jesus as their Saviour (John 1:12-13), they are born again spiritually into the family of God (John 3:3-8), thus  becoming God’s children (Mat.5:9; Luke 2:36; Jn.1:12; 11:52; Rom.8:16,21; Gal.3:26; 1 Jn.3:10; 4:7; 5:1,4). They are brought into a close relationship with God (Rom.5:1-10) that guarantees their ETERNAL security.
Jude 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, (KJV) . . . God's power is well able to keep believers from falling. It is up to God, NOT us, to present us before His glorious Presence. Our eternal security is a result of God keeping us, NOT us maintaining our own salvation. There is NO way we can gain our salvation (Eph.2:8-9), and there is NO way we on our own power or wisdom , can keep or maintain our salvation.

  • Whosoever believes shall NOT perish (in Hell).

John 3:15-16 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (KJV) . . . The world means ALL mankind, whosoever will come to Him!

  • Whosoever believes in Jesus Christ HAS eternal life.

John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (KJV) . . . Again, that little word "hath" . . . HAS! We have ETERNAL life the moment we receive Christ into our heart and life! IF we are promised eternal life, then it is taken away, it was NEVER "eternal" and that would make God a liar! God is NOT a liar (Tit.1:2). IF eternal security is not true, the Promises of eternal life in the Bible would be false, and my friend, God's Holy Word does NOT make errors!

  • Once saved, always saved! Once in God's Hand, there for ever!

John 10:28-29 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. (KJV) . . . Both Jesus and the Father have us firmly in their hand. WHO could possibly separate us from this grip? NO one can . . . not even the devil can pluck us away from God! ETERNAL means for ever!

  • Sealed by the Holy Spirit for God.

Eph.4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. (KJV) . . . If believers did not have eternal security, the sealing could NOT last unto the day of redemption. IF the Holy Spirit seals a person, that person is sealed FOR EVER! God does NOT make mistakes!

  • NO one can separate us from God's love.

Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (KJV) . . . Our eternal security is based on God's love for those whom He has redeemed. Our eternal security is purchased by Christ, promised by the Father, and sealed by the Holy Spirit (Eph.1:4-14). ETERNAL SALVATION!

Eternal Salvation
ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED
Once “In Christ” . . . “In Christ” FOREVER!
Chapter 5 . . . Once Saved, Always Saved!

Conditional Salvation people believe that true believers can fall from faith and lose their salvation. I refuse to call God a “liar.” I cannot believe this way! I believe that the Lamb of God takes away sin from those who believe and trust in Him (John 1:29). ALL sin separates us from God, but ALL sins CAN be forgiven and forgotten by God (Ps.103:12; Mic.7:19; Heb.8:12; 10:17; 1 Jn.1:9).

We do NOT, we CANNOT restore salvation. We restore our fellowship with God (Ps.51:12)! I believe ALL our sins, past, present and future are covered by the Blood of Jesus. He paid it ALL! When we make a commitment to Christ, we are thus identified with Him . . . His death becomes ours (Rom.6:3-4,11). He has paid the penalty for our sins, ALL our sins, and His precious Blood has redeemed us and purified us (1 Pet. 1:18-19). His righteousness is applied to us (1 Cor.1:30) and our faith in Christ justifies us before God the Father (Rom.3:24; 5:1).

God does NOT offer any other kind of salvation except ETERNAL (EVERLASTING) salvation. NON stop! NO end! For ever! WHY can’t people see this? What do they not understand? The Bible is SO clear!

1 Cor. 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: (KJV) . . . God alone made it possible for us to be IN Christ Jesus. Only Jesus can make us acceptable to God. Without Jesus, we are God’s enemy (Rom.5:10). Only belief and acceptance of Jesus can make us pure and holy. God applies Jesus’ righteousness to us, because only Jesus gave Himself to purchase our freedom.

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (KJV)  . . . I bring you this verse again because it is SO important! HOW can anyone possibly have "peace" in their heart and soul if they think they can lose their salvation??? You cannot have ANY peace if you think there is even a remote chance that God will send you to Hell! The peace Jesus gives comes directly from knowing you are saved (1 Jn.5:13; Jn.20:31). This peace also comes from knowing Jesus would NEVER lie to us! It is a soul-deep peace that no one can take away from you. It is a deep down peace that never leaves you even in your darkest hours. If a person does not have this peace, they are not saved, for it is a by-product of salvation.

John 10:27-30 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: [28] And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. [29] My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. [30] I and my Father are one. (KJV) . . . Jesus gives born again believers ETERNAL life! Eternal is forever! Eternal is non-stop! Eternal is everlasting! Once a person is born again by the power of God, NO one can pluck them out of the Hand of God . . . NO one!!!

John 1:12-13 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: [13] Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (KJV) . . . ALL who believe in Jesus and trust and accept Him into their hearts and lives, become children of God spiritually. Only Jesus has the authority, the right and the power to make this possible! We are reborn, and this amazing mystery can come only from God! IF we are children of God through Christ Jesus, we are His children for eternity! We are not His child today, then when we sin, He disowns us as His child. That does not, cannot happen! God is NEVER the Author of confusion (1 Cor.14:33).

First of all, WHAT sin would make God to throw us out of His family? Remember, God hates ALL sin, even what we consider "little ones." So in reality, IF sin would cause God to remove us from His family, we would never be His child, because He is so absolutely pure and holy. Each and every day, we do something to displease Him or anger Him in some way. BUT, when we trust in His only begotten Son to save us, and God applies His righteousness to us, we can stop worrying. We are His child forever! When we sincerely believe, trust and accept Jesus and what He did for us on the cross, His precious Blood washes us and makes us clean. Once this happens, when God looks down on us (His TRUE children), He no longer sees our sin, He sees the precious Blood of Jesus, and He will NEVER turn His Back on that! But, beware, God knows if you are really sincere about your decision for Christ. He knows your heart! God will NOT place His seal on you if you are not sincere.

Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: (KJV) . . . Again I ask, HOW can we have "peace" if we are worried about losing our salvation? There is no way! Once saved, always saved!

Romans 11:6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. (KJV) . . . consider the following:

  • Do you think God loves you more when you’re good?
  • Do you honestly think that God chose you because you deserved it?
  • Do you think that God has a daily quota we each must fill to stay on His ‘good side’?
  • Do you think some people are so bad that God couldn’t possibly save them?

If you think like this, you simply do not understand that salvation is by grace. It’s a FREE Gift. You CANNOT buy it, you CANNOT earn it in any way!

Eph.2:4-5 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, [5] Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) (KJV) . . . The penalty of sin and its power over us were miraculously and mysteriously destroyed by Christ when He died on the cross. ALL those who have faith in Christ stand acquitted (not guilty in the courts of Heaven) before God (Rom.3:21-22; 5:1). God’s way of making people right with Himself has nothing to do with the Law. We are made right in God’s eyes by our faith in Jesus Christ. God does not take us out of the world or make us robots.
We will still have our carnal nature, and sometimes we will sin, but the difference is that before we became Christians, we were dead in sin and slaves to our sinful nature. After we are saved our faith and God’s grace makes us alive with Christ. God forgives ALL our sin (past, present and future). The power of Jesus’ Blood is very capable of doing this.

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (KJV) . . . The fact is that the entire human race is rightly and justly condemned for repeatedly breaking God’s holy law. Without Jesus we would have NO hope! But thank God! He has declared us not guilty and has offered us freedom from sin and power to do His will.
John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (KJV) . . . I think this verse states SO clearly that IF a person is TRULY saved, they are saved forever! God does NOT make us His children, and then cancel our relationship with Him. That is utterly ridiculous.

1 Peter 1:18-19 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; [19] But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: (KJV) . . .A slave was redeemed when someone paid money to buy his or her freedom. God redeemed us from the tyranny of sin, NOT with money, but with the precious Blood of His own Son. We CANNOT escape from sin and its penalty on our own; only the life of God’s Son can free us.

Col. 2:13-14 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; [14] Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; (KJV) . . . We were dead (spiritually) because of our sins and because our sinful nature was not yet cut away. But God made us alive with Christ when we believe Him and trust Jesus Christ to save us.  God’s wrath against us is gone. He forgave ALL our sins. He canceled ALL the charges against us. He took them and destroyed them by nailing them to the cross of Christ. Thank You Jesus!

Eternal Salvation
ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED
Once “In Christ” . . . “In Christ” FOREVER!
Chapter 6 . . .   ????WHAT Sin????

Conditional salvation people say sin can cause a person to lose their salvation, but I have yet to have ANYONE give me an answer as to WHAT sin causes a person to lose his/her salvation?
Sin, ANY sin falls short of the perfect holiness of God. We as humans tend to categorize sin . . . that's a big one (the other guy always does this one, never you), and that's a little one (that is the kind you will claim). God does NOT categorize sin! I have been studying the Bible over 40 years now, and I have never found any place, anywhere in the Bible that tells us that God thinks one sin is worse than another. I am not a Bible scholar though, I have never been to seminary, nor do I intend to do so, so maybe someone smarter than me can show me where I am wrong. As far as I know, it is NOT in there!

Every person, no matter his maturity or his relationship with the Lord, is FAR from perfect by God’s standard. EVERY one of us has SOMETHING in our lives that falls short of God’s glory.

In my estimation, those who say we can lose our salvation, categorize sin as though God overlooks some sins while He judges others. I CANNOT go along with that, NO way! THAT is simply NOT true! Sin is NOT a matter of degrees to God. Sin is sin!

I have questions that I have never had answered to my satisfaction, so I ask these people:

  • #1 Just how BAD must the sin be before we lose our salvation?
  • #2 Which sin is it that does us in?

The people who categorize sin are completely out of touch with God’s way of seeing things. I do know that God does not work like that.
Proverbs 6:16-19 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. (KJV)  . . . Pride, lies, murder (including abortion), an evil heart, feet always running to do evil, a false witness, someone who always brings conflict and disagreement in the church. ALL are sins, ALL are hated by God!

Passages that deal with the Judgment Seat of Christ, are warning believers about the potential loss of rewards . . . NOT loss of salvation.

1 Cor. 3:12-15 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. (KJV) . . . Anything we do for the cause of Christ will stand and receive rewards (Pro.11:18; Dan.12:3; Mat.25:34). All else will be burned up.

1 Cor. 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. . . . (KJV) . . .

  • Nothing done for Christ will be in vain.

Col. 3:24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. (KJV)
2 Tim. 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. (KJV) . . . This crown waits for ALL born again believers! Once Saved, Always Saved!

Eternal Salvation
ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED
Once “In Christ” . . . “In Christ” FOREVER!
Chapter 7 . . . No Condemnation

Once we are spiritually born again into the family of God, we are there forever! We are God’s children forever! Yes! There are some people who are ‘better’ than others, both in physical families and the family of God! Our biological parents cannot actually disown us because we really are their child. DNA could literally prove this fact. Parents may get so angry at their child and break the fellowship, and say they “disown” him/her but that child is still their child.
It is the same with God’s family. Once a person is adopted by God (Jn.1:12-13; Rom.8:15,23; Gal.3:7,26; 4:5; Eph.1:5), God cannot, will not cast you out! Below are some verses that clearly tell us that God will NOT condemn His children. Condemn = remove their salvation, send them to Hell. God will NOT do that! IF you were saved, you are saved forever! Once Saved, Always Saved!

John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (KJV) . . . IF you believe on Jesus, you are NOT condemned (sentenced to Hell). IF you truly believe on Jesus as your Saviour, and accept His Work on the cross, you CANNOT lose your salvation!

John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (KJV) . . . I have brought this verse before you several times already, but it MUST be here in this chapter too. It is such a tremendous Passage of Scripture! Do you really see what it means about condemnation? You HAVE everlasting (eternal) life NOW, and you shall not come into condemnation. Remember, condemnation is being judged (condemned) to Hell! IF you are a TRUE child of God, you shall not come into condemnation. OH! How wonderful that is! When we die, we shall be passed from death unto life . . . ETERNAL life my friend! Please believe God. He cannot lie! (Tit.1:2).

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (KJV) . . . Christ "knew no sin," and was, to all legal effects, "made sin for us," so too are we, who believe in Him, "made the righteousness of God in Him" (2Cor. 5:21). When this miracle happens, we become one with Him in the divine judgment. There is to ALL those "no condemnation." Thank You Jesus!

BELIEF IS A MIRACLE

Belief can be a miracle, true,
A miracle, that can happen to you.
It can change your life spectacularly,
Belief gives you life, eternally!

Believing God can erase all sins,
A miracle; that with faith, begins!
We are justified, by Christ’s precious Blood,
‘Not Guilty’ in Heav’n, by this wondrous Flood!

Belief; a miracle, that sanctifies,
By trusting His Word, that never lies!
Set apart to serve our awesome Lord,
Spreading the Gospel set forth in His Word!

Belief; a miracle, that gives a new heart,
A ‘new’ creature, with a brand new start.
Children of God, and with Christ joint heirs,
One day the bliss of Heav’n with God we’ll share.

Believing is a miracle; true,
This miracle can happen to you!
Receiving Jesus makes you God’s child,
From Hell, you will always be exiled!

Salvation is a ‘Gift’ God gives to you,
A miracle; reserved for a ‘few’.
But most, by unbelief walk away,
From the greatest miracle to come our way!

Jn.1:12-13; 3:15-18; Ro.5:1-10; 6:4; 7:6; 8:14,17; Jn.17:17; 1 Cor.1:30; 2 Cor.5:17; 6:18; Ep.4:24; 5:26; Tit.3:7; 1 P.1:2; Heb.13:12; Eze.11:19; 1 Jn.3:1

Romans 8:34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. (KJV) . . . If God gave His Son for you, He certainly is NOT going to hold back the gift of eternal salvation! And once He gives you eternal salvation, He will NEVER take it from you. A TRUE child of God cannon lose their salvation. That is a damnable heresy.

2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. (KJV) . . . If Christ gave His life for you, He certainly is NOT going to turn around and then condemn you! That is ridiculous! WHY would our Advocate condemn us? (1 Jn.2:1).

Eternal Salvation
ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED
Once “In Christ” . . . “In Christ” FOREVER!
Chapter 8 . . . Pardon Promised

The Holy Word of God (the Bible) clearly tells us that we ALL sin!
Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: (KJV)

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; (KJV)
(Also see Ps.14:1-3; 53:1-3).
God knows we ALL will sin after we are saved! There is no doubt whatsoever in my mind about this. But, there is NO verse anywhere that tells me that when a TRUE believer sins, they lose their salvation. It’s NOT there!

The word “salvation” is in the New Testament 43 times. Not once do any of those verses say we can lose salvation.
“Eternal life” is in the New Testament 26 times. Not one of these verses say we can lose eternal life.
Everlasting life” is in the New Testament 10 times. Not one of these verses say we can lose everlasting life.

The words “eternal” and “everlasting” are in the New Testament a total of 70 times. Not once in all those 70 verses does it say we can lose salvation (eternal life). It sounds to me like God means what He says about eternal salvation! Once Saved, Always Saved!

Below are some wonderful verses promising pardon when we are saved, and in our new life! Read them friend, and believe them! Tremendous comfort, and all TRUE!

Psalm 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. (KJV) . . . If we start north, we eventually will come to the North Pole. When we leave there, we will be going south. North and south meet! East and west can never meet. This is a beautiful  picture of God’s forgiveness. When He forgives sin, He separates it as far as the east is from the west! FOREVER friend! He removes our sin from us and remembers it no more. When we sin as believers (and we will), if we confess our sin, He is faithful and just to forgive us (1 Jn.1:9). NO loss of salvation! NO loss of eternal Life! When God forgives a sin, He forgets it.

Isaiah 43:25 I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. (KJV)  . . . When God forgives our sins, He totally forgets them . . . be it when we are saved, or when we sin after we are saved! He will never remind us of past sin, nor will He condemn a TRUE believer of  any future sin!

Isaiah 55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. (KJV)  . . . When we sin, we turn our back on the Lord, we backslide, we disobey Him, or we disgrace Him. When we sin, we need to return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon us. Our God is merciful, and He loves us. When we repent and return to Him, He will abundantly pardon!

Jeremiah 33:8 And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me. (KJV)

Micah 7:18 Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. (KJV) . . . Do you see where these verses are going? God DOES pardon us when we sin. He is most happy to forgive us when we are sincere in our repentance.

Mark 11:25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.  (KJV) . . . Our forgiveness of others is necessary for our prayers to be acceptable to God. God is loving, merciful and wants to pardon His children when they sin.

Hebrews 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. (KJV)  . . . Once God forgives a sin, God forgets it!

Hebrews 10:17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. (KJV) . . . Again! God forgives and forgets!

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (KJV). . . I believe this because I believe God! Conditional salvation people must not believe it.

Micah 7:19 He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. (KJV) . . . God does forgive our sins, completely! He casts those vile things we do to the bottom of the sea, and the wonderful part, He does NOT go fishing to get them back!

Psalm 32:1 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. (KJV) . . . Our sins, transgressions and iniquities, past, present and future can be forgiven! They are covered by the Blood of Jesus!

Psalm 65:3 Iniquities prevail against me: as for our transgressions, thou shalt purge them away. (KJV)  . . . We ALL will sin after we are saved! But we have an Advocate in Heaven who takes our side! (1 Jn.2:1).

MY  ADVOCATE

Satan stands firm in accusing me,
Of all my sins and iniquities.
But I need not worry ‘bout my fate,
For in Heav’n, I have an Advocate!

Satan accuses, with mighty roars,
But he’ll never keep me, from Heav’n’s door.
My Advocate always, takes my side,
I’m secure, what ever may betide!

The devil accuses constantly,
I’m weak, and full of iniquity.
But my Advocate, by me does stand,
An ultimate blessing, O so grand!

Satan’s accusations never quit,
But the Blood of Jesus does acquit.
My Advocate, the Father will hear,
With Him on my side, I’ve nought to fear!

Tho’ Satan accuses, I have won,
The Father findeth no wrong I’ve done!
My wondrous Advocate, stands up for me,
Frees me from sins, and iniquity!

(Rev.12:10; Job 1:9-11; 2:7; Zec.3:1; Mt.4:1-11; 13:19,38,39;
Jn.8:44; 13:2; 17:11; 1 P.1:5; 5:7-8; 1 Jn.2:1; 2 Tim.1:12;
Jude 24; Heb.2:17; 4:14-15; 5:5; 7:25-27; 8:1; 10:19-23)

Psalm 130:4 But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared. (KJV) . . . God’s children reverebce Him, yet we can talk to Him about anything because He is our Heavenly Father. When He forgives us and we go to Him in prayr, we realize that God holds nothing against us. His lines of communication are completely open . . . No busy signals, no 9-5 hours, no being put on hold.

Daniel 9:9 To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against him; (KJV) . . . Beautiful words!

Zech. 3:4 And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment. (KJV) . . . We have been provided with the righteousness and holiness of God (2 Cor.5:21; Eph.4:24; Rev.19:8). When Satan tries to make you feel dirty and unworthy, remember that the clean clothes of Christ’s righteousness make you worthy to draw near to God. A TRUE believer does NOT lose salvation when they sin.

Acts 13:38 Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: (KJV) . . . The Good News of the Gospel is that we have forgiveness of sins and freedom from guilt that is available through faith in Jesus Christ. NO loss of salvation.

Acts 26:18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. (KJV) . . . Every born again Gentile has an equal share in God’s promised inheritance.  This inheritance is the Promise and blessing of the covenant that God made with Abraham (see Gen.12:3; Eph.2:19-22; 1 Pet.1:3-4).

Hosea 14:4 I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him. (KJV) . . . We too, like Israel, sometimes fall by our iniquity. We too backslide from God. God forgave Israel when she repented of her sin, He can and will forgive us too when we repent.

NO BUSY SIGNAL

God will ne’er, e’er, too busy be,
To list’ to the prayers, of you and me!
No ‘busy signal’ will we e’er hear,
His children He hears; we need not fear!

When we go in prayer, we can be bold,
And we know, we’ll not be put on ‘hold’.
We do not have to take turns, and wait,
This quick passage, we should appreciate!

We’ll ne’er hear: “Hours are from nine to five,”
Our prayers to God, instantly arrive!
He’s ‘on call’ twenty four hours a day,
God loves us, and He wants us to pray!

God loves every one, of His children,
We can go in pray’r, again and again.
He will ne’er tire, of hearing from us,
Prayers from us, to Him, are precious!

A wondrous privilege to go in prayer,
To our awesome God, who truly cares.
Thank the Lord, every day that you live,
For who He is, and blessings He gives!

We all sin! We all backslide from God at times! God forgave Israel when she repented of her sin, He can and will forgive us too when we repent. Go to Him today in prayer! God will always hear His TRUE children!

Eternal Salvation
ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED
Once “In Christ” . . . “In Christ” FOREVER!
Chapter 9 . . . HOW DO WE OVERCOME??

To "overcome" is to be completely victorious by believing in Christ, by persevering, remaining faithful, and living as one who follows Christ. Such a life brings great rewards, now and for eternity.

Faith is why we have victory. It is the means, the instrument, the spiritual armor by which we "overcome" sin, the world, Satan! It is in and by faith that we cling tightly to Christ, and we are in contempt of, and in opposition to this world which is controlled by Satan. Faith sanctifies (sets apart) our heart, and purifies it from those sensual lusts by which the world (Satan) obtains power and control over souls.

Faith knows it has the indwelling Spirit of Grace, which is far greater than he who dwells in the world (1 John 4:4). The TRUE Christian "overcomes" this world by faith. He/she sees, in and by the life and conduct of the Lord Jesus on Earth, that this is how we should live. A TRUE Christian cannot be satisfied with this world, but looks and yearns beyond it; striving, and pressing toward Heaven. If we don’t follow Christ’s example, and overcome the world, it will overcome us.
1 John 5:4-5 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. [5] Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? (KJV)  . . . You will NOT know that the Holy Spirit has come if you are waiting for a certain feeling; but you will know He has come because Jesus promised He would and Jesus does NOT lie to us, ever! When the Holy Spirit is working within you:

  • #1 You will believe that Jesus Christ is God’s Son,
  • #2 You will believe that eternal life comes only through Him (John 14:6; Acts 4:12; 1 John 5:5),
  • #3 You will begin to act differently; willingly obeying Christ (Rom.8:5; Gal.5:22-23);
  • #4 You will have help in your daily problems and in your prayers (Rom.8:26-27);
  • #5 You will be empowered to serve God and do His will (Acts 1:8; Rom.12:6), and
  • #6 You will become part of God’s plan to build up His church (Ephes. 4:12-13).

IF you do NOT change, there is great doubt that you really are a TRUE believer, a child of God. Any person who is TRULY "born again" is a child of God and has the Holy Spirit within them forever! ALL TRUE believers are Heaven bound (John 14:1-3). The way to eternal life is unseen but secure for TRUE Christians! Jesus has prepared the way to eternal life by way of the cross, for God’s TRUE children. Please believe this!

Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. (KJV)  . . . Are you REALLY a Christian? Are you REALLY God’s child? Have you ever worried about this? A TRUE Christian is anyone who has trusted Christ to save them from God’s wrath and eternal death, a person who has “overcome.” When a person becomes "born again" the Spirit of God lives within him or her. And once you have the Spirit of God within you, He is there "forever" (John 14:16; 2 John 1:2). If you have sincerely trusted Christ for your salvation and have acknowledged Him as Lord of your life, and have committed your life to Him, then the Holy Spirit has come into your life, and you are a Christian. And remember, once the Holy Spirit is within you, He will NOT leave you, ever. He’s there forever!

Rev. 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. (KJV) . . . “To him that overcometh” means TRUE believers, and we can overcome ONLY through the precious Blood of the Lamb. Will I give to eat of the tree of life.” Man was forbidden to eat of the Tree of Life in the Garden of Eden (Gen.3:22–24). But in Heaven all TRUE believers will eat of the Tree of Life for eternity. We are going to live as we have never lived before.

Rev. 2:11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death. (KJV). . . “The second death.” Dwight L. Moody put it like this: “He who is born once will die twice; he who is born twice will die once.” If the Rapture (1 Thes.4:13-18) occurs during a person’s lifetime, he won’t even have to die that one time. The first death is separation of body and soul. The second death is eternal separation from God (2 Thes.2:1:8-9). NO TRUE believer will experience the second death!

Rev. 2:17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it. (KJV)  . . . “Hidden manna” is the Person and the death of Christ as He is revealed in the Word of God. Jesus said that He was the Bread of Life (John 6:32–35). Believers must feed on Christ.

A white stone may suggest that believers are given an eternal ticket to Heaven.
Rev. 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: (KJV). . .“I give power over the nations” is explained by Paul: “Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? … (1 Cor. 6:2).

Rev. 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. (KJV) . . .  Anyone who overcomes does so by the Blood of Christ, NEVER on their own strength, wisdom or ability.

In genealogies there are only two books: (1) “the book of the generations of Adam” (Gen.5:1), we are all in that book, but it is a book of death, and (2) “the book of the generation of Jesus Christ” (Mat.1:1) which is the Book of Life.” We get into that book by faith in Christ.

This raises a big question: Is it possible for you to be in the Book of Life and then have your name blotted out? Can we lose our salvation? IF that is true, then the Lord Jesus should NOT have said, “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand” (John 10:28). Over and over again throughout Scripture we have assurance of our salvation. Below is an excerpt from John Walvoord’s book The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which I think is a good explanation of what is meant in this verse:
. . . . . some have considered the book of life not as the roll of those who are saved but rather a list of those for whom Christ died, that is, all humanity who have possessed physical life. As they come to maturity and are faced with the responsibility of accepting or rejecting Christ, their names are blotted out if they fail to receive Jesus Christ as Saviour; whereas those who do accept Christ as Saviour are confirmed in their position in the book of life, and their names are confessed before the Father and the heavenly angels.

Rev. 3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. (KJV). . . The “new name” is His Name. I think this new Name may come from what we really think of Him, our personal relationship with Him.

Rev. 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. (KJV) . . . Again I think Paul explains this. 1 Cor. 6:2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? . . . .

Rev. 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. (KJV) . . . All believers are overcomers because of faith in Christ, and we shall “inherit all things” a Promise to God’s TRUE children (Rom. 8:16–17). Once Saved, Always Saved!

Eternal Salvation
ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED
Once “In Christ” . . . “In Christ” FOREVER!
Chapter 10 . . . “Five Impossible Things”

Five IMPOSSIBLE things must happen before a saved soul (a TRUE child of God) can be lost.

  • #1 Someone would have to pluck us out of the Hand of God. John 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. (KJV) . . . NO one can do that!
  • #2 Someone would have to break the authoritative seal that makes us God's property. Eph.1:13-14 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, [14] Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. (KJV) . . . Once the Holy Spirit seals a person, they are sealed forever!
  •  #3 Someone would have to cast out the indwelling Holy Spirit (God) from us. 1 Cor. 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? (KJV) John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; (KJV) . . . Once the Holy Spirit is given to a TRUE born again believer, NO one can remove Him! NO one!
  •  #4 Someone would have to separate us from the love of Christ. Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, [39] Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.  (KJV) . . . NO one can ever separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord! NO one!
  •  #5 Someone would have to erase our name from the Lamb's Book of Life. Luke 10:20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. (KJV)  Phil.4:3 . . . . whose names are in the book of life. (KJV) Rev.20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (KJV) Rev. 21:27 . . . but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life. (KJV)  . . . Once your name is in the Book of Life permanently, NO one can ever remove it. NO one!

NO one has greater power than Almighty God! NO one! ALL the above are impossible for ANYONE to achieve! ONCE Saved, ALWAYS Saved! Thank You Jesus!

Rev. 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. (KJV)

Rev. 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. (KJV)  . . . Instant salvation, undeserved salvation, glorious salvation, eternal salvation to the one who sincerely receives Christ! Simple, free, amazing and wonderful!

Salvation is NOT a process. Salvation is instantaneous. The  moment a repentant sinner receives Jesus into their heart and life as their personal Saviour and Lord, they have been saved! A sinner need only BELIEVE on the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 10:43). Only Jesus' precious Blood can wash away our sins (1 Pet.1:18,19); NEVER our self righteousness (Isa.64:6). We NEED Jesus' righteousness to get to Heaven (Mat.6:33; Rom.10:3-4, 9-10; 1 Cor.1:30; 2 Cor.5:21). Salvation is of God; NOT man. Eternal life is a free gift (Rom.6:23; Eph.2:8). Once Saved, Always Saved!

Eternal Salvation
ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED
Once “In Christ” . . . “In Christ” FOREVER!
Chapter 11 . . . ??Premature Death??

  • Divine discipline to the point of physical death.

It is our hope that this study on the eternal security of the believer has helped. In understanding our security in Christ, our motives should be godly living, NEVER careless living or taking the Lord for granted, because God is our heavenly Father who absolutely will discipline His children to bring them back to Himself.

We should stake our faith on the trustworthiness of God’s amazing grace. Our personal faith should rest in the finished work of Christ. We should be confident that our salvation shall be preserved from all the dangers and failures of life when we are sincere in our commitment to Jesus. Once Saved, Always Saved!

TRUE believers are secure in Christ and CANNOT lose their salvation, a salvation accomplished by the finished work of the Saviour who sits victoriously at God’s right Hand to plead our case. But Scripture shows us, unless believers abide in fellowship and deal in faith with the sin in their lives, they can fall into serious conditions of sin just like David. Such can happen:

  • #1 because the person was never truly saved,
  • #2 but often the real cause is failure to abide in the life and power of the Spirit of God.

1 Cor.11:30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. (KJV)
1 John 5:16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it. (KJV)  . . .  “Death” refers here to physical death. John is speaking to believers! This does NOT refer to spiritual death because the child of God has eternal life. John tells us that believers CAN commit a sin for which their heavenly Father will call them home, in other words, He will remove them from this life physically, prematurely, quite possibly because they are disgracing and dishonoring Him.

Let’s look at some people in Scripture who have committed a sin unto death. Moses committed a sin unto death. Moses got angry when the Israelites kept belly- aching for water, and instead of speaking to the rock as God commanded him, he hit the rock twice. He should NOT have even touched that rock. The rock was an example and a type of Christ. 1 Cor. 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. (KJV)  . . . Christ died only once, Moses spoiled the type by striking the rock twice. Moses sinned a sin unto death.

Another example is Ananias and Sapphira. They were guilty of lying to the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:1–11). Because of that God removed them both from this earth.

There is an incident mentioned in 1 Corinthians. Some of the people there had actually been getting drunk at the Lord’s Supper, missing the meaning of it completely. 1 Cor. 11:30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. (KJV)  . . . Meaning they died. Paul said that they committed a sin unto death.

So “WHAT is the sin unto death?” It is NOT the unpardonable sin (Mat.12:31-32). That is spiritual death! We are talking about a sin that leads to physical death, NOT spiritual death. These people were God’s children. He would NOT have taken them home if they were not His children. The Lord doesn’t whip the Devil’s children, just His own. When His children sin unto death, He will take them home. What is this sin? I think it would be different for every person, possibly it comes from our ‘weak’ spot! I do believe that every TRUE believer is capable of committing the sin unto death, whatever it is for him/her. A person can go on in a particular sin until God will simply remove you. This does NOT mean that every Christian who dies has committed the sin unto death, far from it.

1 John 5:17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death. (KJV)  . . . ALL TRUE believers who are alive today have sinned, but we have NOT sinned a sin unto death. We did something that was wrong, it was disobedience, it was unrighteousness, but God did NOT take us home. If God took home every believer who sinned, I would have been gone a long time ago. Instead, when I sin, I repent and beg for forgiveness. 1 John 1:9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (KJV)

IF you are a TRUE child of God, and you have strayed from the fold, getting deeper and deeper into ungodly things like gangs, booze, drugs, etc., GET OUT NOW! God loves you, but He will tolerate just so much wickedness, so much sin from His children and then He will lower the boom! He may just take you to the wood shed and whip your tail, or He just may remove you from this world. Consider it my friend!

We know of two believers who were removed from this life prematurely.

A pastor friend in Arizona said that a dear Christian lady had a son who had been saved, but he had started running wild with a motorcycle gang, getting into all kinds of trouble. She tried to talk to the young man, but he wouldn’t listen to her. One night when she went to God in prayer, she prayed a very difficult prayer. “Lord, either make him straighten up, or take him home.” That very night, he was killed in a motorcycle accident. Her son had committed the sin unto death.

Another pastor friend of ours had a young, beautiful, Christian daughter-in-law.  She started running wild, doing drugs on a big scale. She would go to truck stops and hitch rides with truckers. She was found dead in the cab of one of the big rigs. She had committed the sin unto death.

IF a person is a TRUE Christian, they will sin!

Another person in my opinion, that I think sinned the sin unto death and was taken home prematurely was a young, old time country music singer. When I listen to some of the Gospel songs that Hank Williams wrote and sang, I feel deep down that he had to be saved. An unbeliever could NOT have written words like he wrote! Only God knows for sure. He was found dead in the back seat of his car by his chauffeur when they arrived at a place where he was to perform. Someone we know who knows some of this man’s ex-band members said: “He may have sang like he meant it, but he sure didn’t live it.” As I said, only God knows for sure.

Why do I keep emphasizing TRUE Christians, TRUE believers, TRUE children of God, a TRUE child of God??? I have a very good reason. There are SO many hypocrites out there. So many people SAY they are “Christians” but if you watch how they live, you know they are NOT at all Christian. If you would take a survey on the street, asking “Are you a Christian?” The vast majority of people would answer yes.

A TRUE Christian has Christ in their heart and life. Take C-H-R-I-S-T out of Christian . . . what do you have? Absolutely nothing! A TRUE Christian, a TRUE child of God must POSSESS Christ in their heart before they can PROFESS to be a Christian.
Believe God! Eternal Salvation IS ETERNAL! ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED!
