The Simple Gospel of Jesus Christ
According To the Bible
I can never thank our awesome Triune God enough for the Truth of His precious Word. It is indeed a lamp unto our feet (Ps.119:105). Churches influence the world, and IF Satan can corrupt our churches here in America, then he can corrupt them anywhere in the world, because the United States sends out more missionaries than any other nation. BUT . . . there is SO much false doctrine, commandments of men (Mat.15:9) and damnable heresies (2 Pet.2:1), circulating in the pulpits and on the radio and TV concerning what a person must do to be saved. Many true seekers looking for the Truth get confused! SO . . . Just what exactly is the Gospel of Jesus Christ? WHAT is the TRUTH according to the Holy Word of God?
1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: (KJV) . . . Emphasis mine. The above is the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
There are MANY false teachings! Unless you trust CHRIST ALONE for your salvation, you CANNOT be saved, you will NOT be saved! Some heretics teach that we must repent of all sin before we can be saved. WHERE in the Bible does it say this? NOWHERE!!!
So . . . What is Biblical Repentance?
It is a change that comes to a person AFTER he/she is saved, NOT before salvation! Biblical repentance . . . salvation deals completely with OUR SINS. SO . . . repentance is when we realize that we have sinned AGAINST our pure and holy GOD.
All of the mighty Gospel preachers in the past, and the faithful "few" preachers today, believed that genuine Biblical repentance WILL produce a changed life.
2 Cor. 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (KJV) . . . This tells us that a believer is a "new creature" in Christ, former things are passed away, and all things new. I seriously doubt the salvation of many professing "Christians" today, because they have never repented. A person must repent to be saved, and most people stubbornly refuse to give up some treasured sin.
Repentance is NOT the forsaking of sin to be saved; BUT instead, it is a lost sinner realizing that he or she is GUILTY, condemned under God's Law, and deserves Hell . . . and at the same time turns to the Lord Jesus by simple FAITH for forgiveness, for only His precious Blood of Jesus (1 Pet.1:18-19) washes our sins away FOREVER.
Repentance is Biblically a change of mind which causes a lost sinner to BELIEVE what God clearly states in His holy Word, and then the sinner TURNS to Christ Jesus for the forgiveness of sins. If we truly feel the guilt of sin, sincerely realize that we are under condemnation of the Law of God and are doomed to Hell’s lake of fire (Rev.20:15), and we sincerely believe and trust Jesus as the Christ the Saviour, to forgive those sins, there IS salvation, eternal salvation . . . which means ETERNAL SECURITY! Eternal = everlasting, endless, never ending. Once you are God’s child by faith in Jesus, God’s only begotten Son, you are God’s child FOREVER!!!
The internet is full of heretics who teach that a person must forsake their sinful life to be saved. Salvation is a FREE Gift from God (Rom.6:23; Eph.2:8-9). Salvation is come as you are! There is NO sin too great for God to forgive! Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. (KJV) . . . Does this sound like we have to clean up our life before we can be saved? NO! It does NOT!
The idea of come as you are, if understood correctly, IS Biblical, but the precise words come as you are not found in the Bible. There are several verses in the Bible that do suggest this idea, which is based solely on God's amazing grace.
Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. (KJV)
Isaiah 55:1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. (KJV)
Isaiah 59:20 And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD. (KJV)
Joel 2:32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call. (KJV)
John 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. (KJV)
John 8:1-11 Jesus went unto the mount of Olives. 2 And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them. 3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, 4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? 6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. 7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. 8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. 9 And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? 11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. (KJV)
Acts 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. (KJV)
Acts 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. (KJV)
Acts 15:17 That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things. (KJV)
Romans 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: (KJV) . . . Whosoever!
Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (KJV) . . . Whosoever!
Ephesians 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. (KJV)
James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. (KJV)
Revelation 21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. (KJV)
Revelation 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. (KJV)
All the above hint at, or suggest that anyone can ‘come as you are’ to receive salvation. God takes our filthy souls and washes us white as wool, by the Blood of Jesus! Thank You Jesus!
