Claims of Jesus to Be God!

Jesus' claims to pre-existence:

  • Jesus claimed the have pre-existed before He was born in Bethlehem.  John 8:58-59 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. 59  Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by. (KJV)
  • Jesus claimed to have pre-existed in Heaven with glory BEFORE His incarnation. John 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. (KJV)
John 6:33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. (KJV)
John 6:38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. (KJV)
John 8:23 And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. (KJV)
John 8:42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. (KJV)
John 10:30-39 I and my Father are one. 31  Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. 32  Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? 33  The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. 34  Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? 35  If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; 36  Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? 37  If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. 38  But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him. 39  Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand, (KJV)
John 16:28 I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father. (KJV)
John 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. (KJV)

All Jesus' claims relate to worship, glorification, exaltation, the object of religious faith and the title of God.
Jesus IS God!

  • Jesus promised to come in the glory of the Father. Mark 8:38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels. (KJV)
  • Jesus saw Himself as a legitimate object for religious faith, to the same extent as the Father. Mark 9:42 And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea. (KJV)
John 3:14-15 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. (KJV)
John 9:35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God? (KJV)
John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. (KJV)
  • John 14:6-9 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. 7  If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. 8  Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. 9  Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? (KJV)

Jesus' claims to authority

  • Jesus claimed to be able to forgive sins. Mark 2:5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee. (KJV)
Luke 7:48 And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven. (KJV)
  • Jesus claimed authority over the Sabbath. Matthew 12:8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day. (KJV)
Mark 2:28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath. (KJV
  • Jesus claims that the elect are his, and that the angels are his. Mark 13:26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. (KJV) . . . Jesus has possession of the elect (saints) and has total authority over the angels.
  • He implied that he had the ability and authority to bring to an end the law. Matthew 5:21 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: (KJV)
  •  He implied by His Words: But I say to you... that He had divine authority.  (Matthew chapter 5).  http://www.hisservants.org/books_but_i_say_to_you.html
  • He claims to have universal authority. John 17:2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. (KJV)
  • He claims authority to discuss the Kingdom, in the same way that the Father does. Luke 22:29 And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me; (KJV)
  • He claims authority to send/give the Holy Spirit of God! Luke 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high. (KJV)

John 4:10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. (KJV)
John 7:37-39 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. 38  He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. 39  (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) (KJV)
John 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: (KJV)
John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. (KJV)

Jesus' claims IDENTITY and EQUALITY with the Father

  • Jesus claims that our response to Jesus is the same as our response to God. John 15:23 He that hateth me hateth my Father also. (KJV)
  • Jesus claims that to see Him is to see the Father! John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; (KJV)
  • He claims to be, and is repeatedly called, the Son of God. Matthew 8:29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time? (KJV)

Matthew 14:33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God. (KJV)
Matthew 27:54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God. (KJV)
Mark 15:39 And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God. (KJV)
Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. (KJV)
John 1:34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God. (KJV)
John 1:49 Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel. (KJV)
John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (KJV)
John 5:25  Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. (KJV)
John 6:69  And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God. (KJV)
John 11:27 She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world. (KJV)
Acts 8:37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. (KJV)
Hebrews 4:14  Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. (KJV)
1 John 5:5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? (KJV)
1 John 5:12  He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. (KJV)

Jesus has a unique (exceptional, exclusive) relationship to God the Father.

  • Jesus considered His Sonship-relation with the Father to be undeniably unique.  Mark 12:1-11 And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country. 2  And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard. 3  And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty. 4  And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled. 5  And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some. 6  Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son. 7  But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours. 8  And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard. 9  What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others. 10  And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner: 11  This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? (KJV)
John 20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. (KJV)
  • He IS the unique Heir of God. (Mark 12.1-11, above). JESUS IS Heir of all things: Hebrews 1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; (KJV)
Hebrews 2:8 Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him. (KJV)
Psalm 2:6-8 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. 7  I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
8  Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession
    . (KJV)
John 16:15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you. (KJV)
Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. (KJV)
  • He has a private and special knowledge of the Father. Matthew 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. (KJV)
    John 4:34
Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. (KJV) John 7:28-29 Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not. 29  But I know him: for I am from him, and he hath sent me.  (KJV)
  • He claims to have been the only One to have seen the Father. John 6:46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father. (KJV)
John 8:38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father. (KJV)
  • He claims to be absolutely perfect and sinless, and He ALWAYS pleases the Father. John 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. (KJV)
John 6:38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
    (KJV)
John 8:29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him. (KJV)
John 8:46 Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?  (KJV)
John 14:31 But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence. (KJV)

Jesus is greater that ALL others.

Jesus is greater than Abraham. Abraham was and still is one of the most honored and respected persons in all of history. Both Jews and Muslims look to Abraham as their father and the example of godliness.
John 8:53-58 Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself? 54  Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God: 55  Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying. 56  Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. 57  Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? 58  Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. (KJV) . . . http://www.godcannotlie.org/john_commentary_ch8.html

Jesus is greater than Jacob. Another Biblical patriarch was Jacob, who was re-named by the Lord Israel (Gen.32:28). Jesus told the woman by Jacob’s Well in Samaria, that He could give her living water.
John 4:9-15 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. 10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. 11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water? 12   Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle? 13  Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: 14  But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. 15  The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw. (KJV)

Jesus is greater than Moses. There is probably NO other Old Testament prophet, spoken of more, or respected than Moses. He was the lawgiver, the liberator of Israel and a worker of miracles through his FAITH in Almighty God. Moses had the exceptional privilege of speaking to God face to face, as one speaks to a friend (Ex.33:11). Before he died, Moses told the Jews to watch for the Coming of another Prophet who would be like unto Moses.
Deut. 18:15 The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; (KJV)
Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. (KJV)
Hebrews 3:3 For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house. (KJV)

Jesus is greater than Aaron, the High Priest of Israel. The descendants of Aaron was God’s priesthood in Israel.
Exodus 28:40-43 And for Aaron's sons thou shalt make coats, and thou shalt make for them girdles, and bonnets shalt thou make for them, for glory and for beauty. 41  And thou shalt put them upon Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him; and shalt anoint them, and consecrate them, and sanctify them, that they may minister unto me in the priest's office. 42  And thou shalt make them linen breeches to cover their nakedness; from the loins even unto the thighs they shall reach: 43  And they shall be upon Aaron, and upon his sons, when they come in unto the tabernacle of the congregation, or when they come near unto the altar to minister in the holy place; that they bear not iniquity, and die: it shall be a statute for ever unto him and his seed after him. (KJV)
Exodus 29:9 And thou shalt gird them with girdles, Aaron and his sons, and put the bonnets on them: and the priest's office shall be theirs for a perpetual statute: and thou shalt consecrate Aaron and his sons. (KJV)
Hebrews 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. (KJV)
Hebrews 5:4-6 And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron. 5  So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee. 6  As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. (KJV)
Hebrews 7:28 For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore. (KJV)
http://www.godcannotlie.org/book_of_hebrews_ch7.htm

Jesus is greater than David. When Jesus walked this Earth as Man, a common title for the Messiah was Son of David (Mat.1:1, 20; 9:27; 15:22; 20:30; 21:9, 15; 22:42). When a Jew used this term, it showed their belief, based on prophecy, that the Messiah would be of David’s lineage (2 Sam.7:16). In a discourse in the Temple, Jesus quoted: Psalm 110:1 The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. (KJV) . . . Which pointed out that David calls the Messiah my Lord. The Son of David therefore, is greater than David and has a lineage greater than an earthly line of royalty.

Jesus is greater than Solomon. King Solomon was unrivaled in wisdom, wealth, power, and prestige. 1 Kings 10:23-24 So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom. 24  And all the earth sought to Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.(KJV) . . . Kings and rulers from around the world visited Jerusalem during Solomon’s reign and paid him honor. But Jesus said: Matthew 12:42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here. (KJV)

Jesus is greater than Jonah. Jonah, the reluctant prophet was indeed great, in that he was responsible in one of the greatest revivals in history, once he got his feet going in the right direction! Under his potent, powerful but brief preaching (Jonah 3:4), the whole city of Nineveh repented of their sin and turned to God for mercy. Nineveh was notorious for its idolatry and savagery . . . yet it humbled themselves in God’s eyes and turned away from their paganism. Jesus said: Matthew 12:41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here. (KJV) . . . He was speaking to the Pharisees.
http://www.godcannotlie.org/jonah_ch3.htm

Jesus is greater than John the Baptist. John was very instrumental in the First Coming of Jesus. He was the forerunner prophesied that would precede the Coming of the Lord.
Malachi 3:1 Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts. (KJV)
Luke 1:17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. (KJV)
Jesus said that John the Baptist was more than a prophet and there is none greater than John.
Luke 7:26-28 But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet. 27  This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. 28  For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he. (KJV)
John the Baptist was indeed very great, but very humble! Jesus was greater by far!
Mark 1:7-8 And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose. 8  I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost. (KJV)

Jesus is greater than the Temple. The Temple in Jerusalem was a glorious and tremendous place, full of religious history. Matthew 24:1 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. (KJV)
Matthew 12:6 But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple. (KJV)
The Temple was where Israel’s priests interceded with God for their sins . . . BUT Jesus’ ministry of intercession is far greater. Hebrews 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. (KJV)

Jesus is greater than the Sabbath. One great sign of the Mosaic Covenant was the keeping of the Sabbath. Ezekiel 20:12 Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them. (KJV) . . . This the Jews did!  When Jesus came, He lived under the Law Galatians 4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, (KJV)
And He fulfilled the Law. Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. (KJV)
And He showed that: Matthew 12:8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day. (KJV)
Jesus so often called Himself The Son of Man: (Mat.8:20; 9:5; 10:23; 11:19; 12:8,32,40; 13:37, 41; 16:13,27-28; 17:9,12, 22; 18:11; 19:28; 20:18,28; 24:30,37,39,44; 25:13,31; 26:2,24,45,64)

Jesus is greater than the church. WHAT is the Church? It is the elect of God (saints) who have been called out of the world, redeemed and glorified. Romans 8:30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. (KJV) . . . One sweet day, the church will be a glorious church, without any stain . . . justified (Rom.5:1), sanctified (Rom.15:16; 1 Cor.2; 6:11; 1 Tim.4:5) and blameless (1 Cor.1:8; Phil.2:15; 3:6; 1 Thes.5:23; 2 Pet.3:14). Eph. 5:26-27 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. (KJV) . . . Christ is FAR greater, because He is the Only One Who can make us ready and presentable to enter Heaven. He is the Head of the church, which is His body (Col.1:18; Jn.13:16; 15:20).
John 13:16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. (KJV)
John 15:20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. (KJV)
Col 1:18-20 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. 19  For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; 20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. (KJV)
The Church houses the saints. Saints: (Mat.27:52; Acts 9:13,32,41; 26:10; Rom.1:7; 8:27; 12:13; 15:25-26,31; 16:2,15; 1 Cor.1:2; 6:1-2; 14:33; 2 Cor.1:1,15,18; 2:19; 3:8,18; 4:12; 5:3; 6:18; Phil.1:1; 4:2; Col.1:2,4,12,26; 1 Thes.3:13; 2 Thes.1:10; 1 Tim.5:10; Phm.1:5,7; Heb.6:10; 13:24; Jude 1:14; Rev.8:3-4; 11:18; 13:7,10; 16:6; 17:6; 18:24; 20:9) . . . God makes saints! NO man anywhere can ever make a saint!

Jesus is greater than the angels. Angels are created beings, just as are humans. Angels are servants of God, the same as humans are supposed to be. Jesus is God! Jesus is God’s only begotten Son sitting at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (KJV)
Hebrews 1:3-5 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; 4  Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. 5  For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? (KJV)
One day all principalities and powers in heaven and on earth will bow before Christ.
Isaiah 45:23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. (KJV)
Romans 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. (KJV)
Phil. 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; (KJV) . . . This shall happen!

Jesus is much superior to the angels as the Name he has inherited is superior to theirs.
Hebrews 1:4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. (KJV)
Jesus’ Holy Name is greater than ALL other names. Jesus is the Perfect Man and He is the One and Only Sacrifice for sin, and He has been highly exalted. God has given Him the name that is above every name: Phil. 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (KJV)
There are MANY other names in religious history: Buddha, Confucius, Gandhi, Krishna, Joseph Smith, Mohammed, Sun Myung Moon, etc., etc. They ALL are unimportant in the light of the glory of Jesus Christ! It is ONLY the Name of Jesus that is preached to the ends of the earth, because it is ONLY in His Name that salvation is found (Jn.14:6; Acts 4:12).
Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. (KJV)
Col. 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. (KJV)
Jesus is the fullest possible revelation from God to mankind! God could not have spoken any more plainly.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2  The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. (KJV)

Claims of Jesus that would make NO SENSE at all IF He were not God!

  • Jesus claimed His Words will outlast time. Mark 13:31 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. (KJV)
  • Jesus claimed that the eternal destiny of all people depend on their response to HIM! Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. (KJV)
John 10:1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
    (KJV)

Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. (KJV)

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (KJV)

Eph. 2:18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. (KJV)

Jesus claimed to have been the only One to have seen the Father.

John 5:37 And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. (KJV)

John 8:55 Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying. (KJV)
John 14:9-10 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? 10  Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. (KJV)
John 15:24 If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. (KJV)
Matthew 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. (KJV)
Luke 10:22 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him. (KJV)

Jesus claims to be absolutely perfect / sinless. He ALWAYS pleases the Father.

Matthew 3:17  And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. (KJV)
Matthew 17:5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. (KJV)

John 14:9-11 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? 10  Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. 11  Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.(KJV)
John 14:31 But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence. (KJV)

John 16:32 Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me. (KJV)

Jesus makes statements that are completely ridiculous, IF He were not God.

John 8:58  Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. (KJV)
John 10:25-30 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me. 26  But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. 27  My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28  And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29  My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. 30  I and my Father are one. (KJV)
John 14:28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I. (KJV)
John 15:4-6 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5  I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. 6  If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. (KJV)
John 17:9-10 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine. 10  And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them. (KJV)

(KJV)
John 16:26-27 At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: 27  For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God. (KJV)

Consider the following, very carefully:

*****God the Father called Jesus His beloved Son and was well pleaded with Him!
Matthew 3:16-17 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.  KJV) . . . Jesus’ baptism.
Mar 1:10-11 And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: 11 And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. (KJV) . . . Jesus baptism.
Matthew 17:5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. (KJV) At Jesus; transfiguration. . . . At BOTH these events, God the Father calls Jesus My beloved Son and clearly states that He is WELL pleased with Him!

*****Evil spirits KNEW Jesus was the Son of God, and the Holy One of God.
Matthew 8:28-29 And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way. 29  And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time? (KJV)
Mark 3:11 And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God. (KJV)
Mark 1:23-24 And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out, 24 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God. (KJV)
BEWARE!!! James 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. (KJV) . . . Even the evil angels KNOW who Jesus is, and they shudder at what awaits! 2 Peter 2:4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; (KJV) Jude 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. (KJV) . . . BEWARE!! You do NOT want to go where ALL the wicked go (angels AND mankind).  Isaiah 66:24 And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh. (KJV)  http://www.judgmentcoming.org/j_c_hell_is_it_there.htm

***** His enemies KNEW that Jesus was claiming to be God and accused him of blasphemy.
Matthew 9:3 And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee. 3  And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth. (KJV)
Matthew 26:61-64 And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days. 62  And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee? 63  But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God. 64  Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. (KJV)
John 5:14-18 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee. 15  The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole. 16  And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day. 17  But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. 18  Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God. (KJV)
John 10:30-33 I and my Father are one.
(KJV)

*****Some of the general population called and considered Jesus God.
Luke 7:12-16 Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her. 13  And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not. 14  And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise. 15  And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother. 16  And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people. (KJV)
Luke 8:35-40 Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid. 36   They also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed. 37  Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about besought him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear: and he went up into the ship, and returned back again. 38  Now the man out of whom the devils were departed besought him that he might be with him: but Jesus sent him away, saying, 39  Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him. 40  And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him. (KJV)

*****John the Baptist knew that Jesus was FAR superior to himself.
Matthew 3:11-15 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: 12  Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire. 13  Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. 14  But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? 15  And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him. (KJV)
John 1:24-31 And they which were sent were of the Pharisees. 25  And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?
26  John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not; 27  He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose. 28  These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing. 29  The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. 30  This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me. 31  And I knew him
not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water. (KJV)
